The last thing Erend thought would be the thing to wake him up in the morning, was the sounds of metal against metal, no matter how quiet the person was trying to be, they still failed. He could hear metal rattling against other metal, pieces falling and clinking to the floor, and he, with a resigned sigh had decided that he was clearly up and awake for the day...even if he hadn't intended on waking yet, somehow whoever thought otherwise. Sitting up slowly, he stayed seated on his bunk and could easily lean to the side to look out of his cubicle space, to the corridor between the cubicles a little in front of him. "What are you doing?" Erend couldn't even keep the confusion from his voice.
Nureka peeked up, like someone who'd been evidently caught doing something they shouldn't be, and looked at him awkwardly. "Resourcing?" She replied, questioning him back as if he shouldn't have even been asking what she was doing. To her, it was blatantly obvious.
Erend threw his legs over the side of his bunk and stood slowly. With a groan he stretched out his back and arms while walking towards her. True, the large barrels of machine parts were just there, Kotallo had collected things and just stored them as neatly as he could. In truth, Erend had never seen him touch anything from his horde. "Yeah, I can see that. But did you have to do your resourcing this early in the morning?" Erend did sound rather perturbed and grumbling over being so rudely awakened.
Nureka sighed and shifted her weight, "Erend, how can you tell the time of day in here?" There was no window, there was no chance to see where the sun laid in the sky to know what the time was.
"It feels early," was his response while peering at the parts she had collected in her hands already. Nodding at them, he couldn't help but feel his curiosity get piqued. He didn't pry, Kotallo was collecting the machine parts for a reason, it was easy enough to guess why, but Erend never questioned his roommate, if he could even be called that now considering he didn't spend the night in here last night. Not that Erend was jumping to conclusions that Kotallo had moved out of here. "Too early for you to be bashing metal together."
Nureka raised an eyebrow, "You're an Oseram, Erend. Aren't your smiths up bright and early each day? But I swear your fellow Oserams don't allow the forges to ever go out and work well into the night, if they need to."
Erend pointed a finger her way and nodded, "Sure, you have a point, but that's in a settlement. Not in a poky space like this."
"It isn't that poky..."
Erend waved his arm towards the door, his hand waving in some direction which Nureka was confused about. She had no idea what he was trying to gesture to, as long as Erend knew, she wouldn't question it. "You're used to rolling mountains and snow covered lands, and you don't think this is poky?"
Nureka twitched her nose in thought, "I've acclimatised."
Erend scoffed and even ended up laughing at that. "Have you now?" Nureka nodded surely, humming too in agreement while Erend just looked her over while crossing his arms. "I'm surprised you are up so early, must've slept well last night." Nureka's eyes slowly narrowed up at him then, Erend shouldn't find it amusing to tease her, but it really was. If he tried with Kotallo, if he dared to try, Erend was sure all he'd get would be simple words and a blank expression. Nureka was too expressive, and it made it entertaining. Call it revenge for her waking him up making such a noise.
"I have a lot to do today."
"Really now?" Erend followed Nureka out of the room and watched her nod. She didn't say anything else, so he guessed he wasn't getting an explanation. Whatever it was, whatever her plans were, revolved around being shut away in a room all day working. "Just remember to take a break."
