you were walking around the Palace halls, looking out of the open windows as you looked to the outside, just as you saw Iris fly your way and she perched on your shoulder, you smiled with a giggle as you stroked her head with your finger, Iris gave a little chirp In response, the bird feeder Idea worked out well and now Tighnari's plant seeds were left alone by the birds, and speaking of Tighnari he'd been hard at work along with the palace architect, to complete the Indoor Lotus pool that your mother wanted put in, your curiosity got the best of you and you decided to go have a look at the progress, you gave Iris one last pat as she soon flew back out the window 

you then started down the hallway, heading to the pretty much less lively part of the palace, but just then Maharet rushed over to you, "my lady! there you are princess"

you turned, "hm? is something wrong"

Maharet took a breath, "Lady Nilou is here to visit you"

you smiled, "Nilou? oh It's been so long,"

you then turned around and followed Maharet, soon coming to the entrance of the palace and there was your good friend Nilou, the both of you were childhood friends, Nilou was the daughter of a member of your Father's council and an Important Official, so whenever he came to the palace he brought Nilou and that's how you met years ago,

the guards opened up the Palace doors, and Nilou came inside with a smile on her face, she was wearing a blue and white dress with golden sandals and gold accessories, and her red hair was In a ponytail with a white veil over her hair, she started bowing but you stopped her 

"Nilou, there's no need for that please stand up"

you guided her back to stand, she then smiled "It's so good to see you"

you smiled before you shared a hug, you then gestured "please, come sit down"

she followed as you went to one of the palaces resting rooms, there was a beautiful carpet spread about the floor with many cushions, you and Nilou went to sit down 

she smiled, "It's been a while, how are you fairing?"

"I am well, actually I have something I need to tell you"

Nilou gave her attention, "what is It?"

you started to smile a little, "I'm getting married soon"

Nilou gasped, she then smiled as she hugged you "Congratulations!"

you laughed a little, "Thank you"

Nilou soon broke the hug, "please tell me, who is he"

"General Mahamatra"

Nilou's eyes shined, "so It's him! I've met him before once"

you turned, "truly? what is he like, I've only heard mixed thoughts about him"

Nilou placed a hand to her cheek, "well, when I met him he was very courteous and gentle, he's a very handsome man but has a cold demeanor about him, he seems unapproachable at first but all in all he's a good man"

you nodded, "I see"

Nilou smiled, "so how did you react to the marriage"

"I was shocked, very shocked but I thought about It and accepted"

Nilou nodded, "understandable, I always thought you'd chose your own husband though"

you sighed, "I would've liked to, I've always wanted to meet and fall In love with the right man, but as It's the will of my parents I'll marry the General"

Nilou rubbed your shoulder, "look here, maybe you'll get on great and become a loving pair"

you smiled, "that would be nice, I'll be meeting him In a few days, Father says he'll be returning to Sumeru from training the new soldiers"

"Wonderful! I hope you'll let me know how It goes"

you smiled with a nod, before standing up and you started walking out of the resting room with Nilou following, you walked through the palace halls as you chatted and catched up 

Nilou started, "oh, do you remember that time we played hide and go seek years ago"

you laughed, "yes,"

Nilou smiled, "and you hid among the peacocks, your dress matched them so well that day"

you smiled, shaking your head "I remember"

Nilou touched your shoulder, "I should be going back, but I'll come again another day"

you then walked with her back to the Palace entrance, Nilou gave you a squeeze before she left the out the palace doors with a wave, and you waved back as she made her way down the steps, 

just then Maharet came, "my lady, your Mother wishes to speak with you"

you turned, "alright, thank you Maharet"

you turned on your heels as you went back inside the palace, heading to your mother's room.

(Just an FYI I know Nilou is way younger than us in terms of the original Story In Genshin, but since this is a Fantasy and Royal Au I decided to have her close in age to us)
