A Stormy night Chap.26

Later on In the day it had Indeed started storming, thunder crashed through the sky and the rain fell, but It had been a long while since It stormed In Sumeru Kingdom though It annually rained, but despite that In the back of your mind you had thought something was wrong ever since you had that feeling earlier, but you decided not to give it too much thought, you were currently returning from the royal library and now on your way to have dinner as usual

as you walked through the hallway, you flinched at the sound of the thunder but soon calmed down as you continued making your way to the dining room, and once there you greeted your parents before going to sit down as the royal chef brought out tonight's dinner, which was Tachin a mixed rice dish that actually happened to be one of your husband's favorites, the royal chef soon took his leave as you started to eat and your mother looked to the ceiling 

"I never Imagined It would storm like this, it's almost ominous don't you think?"

"Nonsense It's just the weather changing," said your Father

you looked around, "Isn't Candace joining us?"

Queen Devika shook her head, "she dined earlier and is now sleeping I believe; she should get all the rest she can as the next few months come, pregnancy Isn't easy"

you continued eating, but then you heard the sound of a scream coming from somewhere which frightened you greatly and your Father stood up, "what's going on!"

all of a sudden a shaken maid burst into the room, she held a hand to her heart as she panted 

"Your Majesties, Princess...a soldier from the front has come asking to see you all"

you looked to your mother, and she looked to your father before they started out of the dining hall with you following not too far away, and you all followed the maid as she led you to the front entrance of the palace where a wounded soldier waited, holding his arm 

you silently gasped upon seeing his wounds, and your father stepped forward 

"What happened?"

the soldier bowed, "your Majesty...the war is not yet over but there's a great tragedy that's happened...."

Queen Devika furrowed her brows, "Tragedy?"

just then you saw Candace make her way to your side, "what's going on? I heard a scream"

the soldier bowed his head, "on the battlefield...General Mahamatra fought against Prince Ajax with great strength and It lasted for a while...but they wounded each other as they started slowing down and...his highness charged towards him after he knocked him down...but I...I didn't expect...Prince Ajax and Prince Cyno impaled each other with their weapons...and Prince Cyno died first"

you stood there as his words registered in your mind, and you felt your world come to a halt 

"died...." you whispered

your mother covered her mouth in shock, "oh my...."

King Xavier closed his eyes, "Who's taken command of the army now"

"Lieutenant Al Haitham"

you looked to Candace, "he said he'd return...he...he promised"

Candace's eyes welled up with tears, "(Y/n)"

just then a crash of thunder filled the sky, and you shut your eyes as tears started to slide down your cheeks and you started walking past Candace, brushing past the soldier as you started heading out into the rain but Maharet rushed as she tried pulling you back 

"Princess please! don't go out there!" she pleaded

you tried breaking free of her hold, and you wriggled your way out of her grip as you ran outside into the rain as you stared out into the distance just like before, the rain came down as you stood there now getting soaked but you didn't care at all as you then fell to your knees, you started crying out loud as you held a hand over your heart and Candace rushed outside

she brought you into her arms as you sobbed into her shoulder, and your parents looked on feeling their own heartbreak come over them, 

but then you looked up to the sky, and you screamed "IT'S A LIE!"

Candace held you tighter as she cried a little bit, and Maharet came outside as she hugged you as well while you continued crying, but then all of a sudden you felt a strange sensation come over as you then rolled your eyes back and fainted, which alarmed them both as they tried to help you come to but you weren't responding.
