"Oliver Asher? Have you heard the name somewhere before?"
"Yes I have. I saw it online while checking up on the school and it's students. His dad is a business tycoon and rakes in profit in billions. He also owns an assortment of industries while his mother is a world renowned neurosurgeon." Emma promptly answered.
"That's the one." Natasha said snapping her fingers.
"He stays in the Fox's dorm. Top floor. Room number 1. He is your typical Mr good guy next door.
He relates well with everyone. Doesn't care about ranks at all. He looks very unreal. His features are quite similar to those of a comic book character. He has a little sister which he greatly adores but he's the only son and sole heir to all his dad's companies. The biggest and most successful of them; OASIS, the AI company?"
"Yes I know it." Emma nodded.
"The first two letters supposedly stand for Oliver Asher. Apparently, his dad founded it when he was born and plans to hand it over when the time is right I guess. Pretty nice right?
If this were a romance drama, he's that guy the new girl, lower in class and social rank tends to fall in love with and all." She had that dreamy look in her eyes as she spoke, cupping her hands together like she was watching a scene from any typical romance drama before she came back to reality.
"But I guess we shouldn't let that happen." Natasha zoned in on Emma playfully.
"Of course. No way. I came here to study after all." Emma replied looking very determined.
"Ok. Ok I see you." She replied chuckling.
"And- That's perfect. Really. You might think it very unnecessary for me to be saying all these but I don't think so because this isn't another Cinderella story. If you do get involved with him like that, or any of the 'Touch Not', then you've got to go prepared cause a lot of this kids will have their eyes fixed on you. Especially Jasmine in the case of Oliver. And that would not end well at all. Take it from me. I've got some experience in that area. Quite unfortunately."
"I totally get it."
"You may have to start wondering if you're Park Shin Hye in The Heirs, or the female lead in Extraordinary You or you know any other Korean drama that's relatable. She can also use her influence to affect the lives of your family members if it gets really bad you know."
"We shouldn't make this story that kind of drama. I'm blabbing this much because he's a good friend of mine. I can say my best bud and we hang out a lot- Kinda- Sooo yh you're going to be seeing a lot of Oliver."
"It's ok I understand. Completely. But- How about his girlfriend though. Jasmine? Wouldn't she get mad that her boyfriend's hanging out with another girl or something like that that often happens in movies?" Emma asked obviously excited.
"What? No, no, no." Natasha laughed heartily.
"Ummm- Yh No. You've got it a little wrong I think? It's really not like that most of the time. Jasmine is ok with it I think? Like she doesn't try to pick unnecessary fights with me cause she knows Oliver's not going to be happy with that. But yh sometimes she can be a b*tch but she knows I don't really care so it's really okay."
"He seems like a nice person. I can't wait to meet him." Emma said adjusting her position on the couch.
"You will. Soon I think. Knowing Oliver, I'm sure he's going to love you." Natasha smiled while reaching for the remote after checking the time on her phone.
"So- Do you want to watch 'All for you' now?" She switched on the tv and stood up, headed straight for the refrigerator.
Taking out two cups of strawberry ice cream, she strolled back to where Emma was sitted and handed her one as the drama began.
An hour later after the drama was over Emma sleepily strolled to her room after telling Natasha goodnight.
Collapsing into the warm embrace of her bed, she suddenly remembered something she forgot and quickly took out her phone.
"Rosie? Why are you still awake at this time of the night? You should be sleeping. You have school tomorrow remember?" She teased.
"I could ask you the same thing. Mum-" Rosie replied laughing on the other end.
"How was school today?" Emma asked wondering how the first day of junior year would've been now she wasn't around to experience it.
"Ok I guess. Same old, same old. Everyone's the same as last year but- It felt a bit lonely without you. How you doing over there with all the rich kids, skyscrapers, attractions and whatnot?" She asked chuckling.
"I'm doing fine- And there are no skyscrapers here. Yet I think." She added laughing.
"Missing you a lot though."
"I know." Rosie replied with a huge smile feeling rather confident.
"I'm done settling in by the way. My roommate's so super nice, she gave me a whole breakdown on everything that I needed to know right away. I was so surprised when she said the dorms were selected based on rankings- Like what? They even gave me a bronze keycard for my room Rosie.
I'm in the lowest ranked dorm, the second to the last room." Emma jokingly reported wiping away the fake tears from her eyes.
"I guessed it's because you're not paying a dime to study there. Its ok as long as you study well and enjoy yourself."
"Yes. Of course I will. You know that." Emma agreed grinning.
"After her lesson we ate ice cream and watched 'All for You'. I mean-" She scoffed in surprise before finishing up her sentence.
"This school is so amazing that I can't wrap my head around everything. I still can't believe there's a tv in our room. I mean we're allowed to watch tv and there's also a mini kitchen- To put it simply, our room is just a luxurious apartment."
"Feeling a bit jealous over here Em."
"You shouldn't. You don't have to stay with rich, spoilt rotten classmates so enjoy the freedom."
"Send me loads of pictures ok?"
"Of course I will."
"By the way, what's your roommate's name. I might have heard of her." Rosie asked sitting up on her bed, bringing her laptop closer to her as she put the phone on speaker mode.
"Oh? Yeah her name's Natasha. Natasha Bridget."
"Really?!! What the- Oh My G- What!? From the Bridget corporation??" Rosie all but screamed in shock.
"I guess... I mean are they big or something?"
"Big???" She asked sarcastically.
"They're huge. Her father is Ian Bridget. He runs an international architecture firm so yh. He also co-designed the New London bridge with Justin Eden-"
"Eden? Wait a minute. Does he have a daughter named Grace. Grace Eden?"
"Yes he does. She attends The Elite also. I can see a picture of her with another lady." Rosie spoke while scrolling down the news on her computer.
"Oh! The other girl's name's Natasha. Natasha Bridget. Your new roommate. I guess they're friends or something. Anyway they are super rich and influencial."
Then what is she doing here?
"You said she's really nice to you right?" Rosie's voice snapped Emma out of her thoughts.
"Yes. She has been so far."
"That's good for you then, you've gotten off to a good start Em." Rosie said happily.
"I have to go now, gotta put Joan to sleep. Goodnight. Have a nice day tomorrow."
"Goodnight Rosie. Have a better day ok? And tell Joan I miss her so so so so much and give her many kisses from me ok? You both sleep tight."
"Of course you too Em. Don't let the bed bugs bite." Rosie chuckled.
"Bye." She ended the call.
Emma switched off her phone and fell asleep not long after.
