When Todoroki woke up, Izuku was repetitively apologizing for his actions. Shoto wasn't too upset, knowing what Izuku must be going through. Everyone knew how much of a bother Bakugou was, and now Midoriya was trapped with him. It reminded Shoto of his parents, Enji and Rei. His father was abusive, and Rei wanted everything to cut their bond. He made it impossible for her though.

"I'm sorry, about Bakugou." Todoroki mentioned. "Are you planning on keeping the bond?"

"Absolutely not." Izuku shot, crossing his arms in front of him. "The moment I see him, I'm severing the bond regardless of what he says." Izuku cringed at the marking on his ring finger. "I wish this thing was gone already."

Shoto reached out and covered the marking, making Izuku look up. "This weekend, do you want to come to my house for dinner? My sister has been wanting to meet some of my classmates. Maybe it'll get your mind off of everything."

Midoriya smiled and agreed. Walking back to class, Izuku began to genuinely think that maybe the whole soulmate thing was rigged, and that him and Todoroki should've been put together instead.

After school, Aizawa instructed Midoriya to go and speak with Bakugou to sort out their differences. Though he really didn't want to, Izuku followed his teacher's orders. He knocked on the blond's door, but didn't get a response.

"Kacchan, it's me." Izuku called out. "Aizawa told me to talk things out with you."

After a long pause, the door clicked open, and Bakugou peered out. He didn't look Deku in the eyes though. "I'm not letting you sever the bond."

Midoriya let himself in, pushing passed Bakugou. Katsuki's eyes were red and puffy, and his movements were sluggish. Still, Izuku was firm with his choice. The band needed to be severed for the better.

"Kacchan, why?" Izuku exasperated. "You hate me."

"Stop fucking saying that!"

"Too bad because it's true!" Izuku argued back. "I'm not about to sit here and fight with you again. If you don't want the sever it, fine. But I do. I can't stand you anymore."

A silence fell on them. Izuku was fed up with the theatrics. He wanted it to be over with so he would never have to speak to Bakugou again. There was still no clear answer on why, after all the years of harassment, he still wanted to hang on.

"Until you get over yourself and respect my decision to cut the tie, don't bother speaking to me."

With that, Izuku left, not worrying about how Bakugou was feeling. Why should he? The explosive bully never bothered to consider Deku's thoughts, so why should it be any different the other way around. They were never friends – they were enemies. This was bound to happen sooner or later.

Bakugou couldn't let him go. He didn't want it to be true, that his even his soulmate hated him. Deep down, he knew the brat he was, but he couldn't let it get to him. But this hurt worse that anything anyone else could say to him, but he had been saying to his soulmate all these years.

"I can't stand you."
