Nightshade was everything Brooklynn and Andy could've dreamed of. It was a larger pack, bigger than their own, and the people had been nothing but kind to them since they had arrived. They had landed after a four in a half hour flight, and immediately had went to the pack house, meeting Nicole and Aldrich's second and third command, Josh and Alex. They were both very welcoming to the girls, Alex pulling Drew into a playful chokehold and demanding question after question about his mate. Brooklynn had stood back, laughing as Drew overpowered Alex, putting him into a chokehold of his own and telling him it wasn't his business.
She liked the two men, Josh being a little less blunt as he politely introduced himself, asking her how Drew was treating her and if he so far was meeting her expectations. Of course, she said yes, laughing at a joke Alex said in reply to her answer. Andy immediately got along with Alex, who the two girls quickly realized was more high strung and blunt out of the two men.
Nicole had left to take Everleigh to hers and Aldrich's house, who had slept through the whole flight and needed to go to bed. It was late when they landed in Nightshade, having been late afternoon when they had boarded their flight in Red Moon. The baby girl was exhausted from eating and all the attention she had received throughout the day. Aldrich stayed behind, opting to figure out the housing situation, while Nicole laid their daughter down for bed.
"So," he started. "Andy, we have a spare room in our house that used to belong to Drew. It's still got his bed, tv, and all his furniture. You're welcome to it, unless you and Brooklynn were looking to stay together?"
Andy looked to Brooklynn, her eyebrow raised. Brooklynn, who was leaning tiredly against Drew, spoke. "I'm going back to Drew's house. But we've already talked, and it's okay if you wanna come stay there. It's just up to you."
Andy nodded, turning back to Aldrich. "I can just take Drew's old room. I don't feel like room-mating with new mates." she said, jokingly.
Aldrich chuckled and nodded his head. "Alright, that's fine. Let me run to my office and handle some things, then we'll leave. You can wait in the car or come with me, whichever."
Andy nodded, excitedly following him to the office. She looked over her shoulder, mouthing, "I get to see his office!"
Brooklynn and Drew chuckled, Brooklynn shaking her head at her excitement. "I swear, she's something else."
Drew wrapped an arm around her, leading her outside to his awaiting car. "If she sticks by Aldrich's side, he'll have her ready to lead a pack by the end of the year."
Brooklyn smiled, climbing in the car after Drew opened the door for her. He walked around the driver side, climbing in himself. "She would be a good leader. She doesn't see it, but she could take over the world if she wanted too." Brooklyn replied, settling into the seat as Drew began to drive.
"Wouldn't that shake things up? People had a near uprising when one woman took over a pack. Could you imagine two doing it?" he asked, his eyebrow raised.
"How did you know..." she trailed off, her voice a little higher and her eyebrow also raised.
Drew chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "She stares a little harder at Nicole than she does Aldrich. I know that look, it's pretty obvious." He glanced at Brooklynn, seeing her watching him in amusement. "What? I've just noticed it. It doesn't bother me, if that's what you think. I have a pretty sister, big deal. I mean, have you seen me? It runs in the family." he said, gesturing to himself.
Brooklynn laughed, shaking her head. "Yeah, it sure does, Babe."
Drew smirked, sending her a wink. "You couldn't keep your eyes off me when I got out the car at Red Moon. Don't try to deny it."
