The small pack made it back to the pack house, Drew carrying James on his back, after he shifted back into his wolf. The gamma was in more pain than he let on, so Drew tried to keep from shaking him too much on the journey back. At first, James didn't want Drew to carry him, saying it would be weird to ride on the man's back. But Drew felt responsible for the injury, so he insisted, telling him it was the least he could do.
"Dude, you killed the fucking thing, and you're hurt." James had said, earning an eye roll from the alpha.
"I'm fine. Let me shift and get on. Stop whining like a pup." Drew had shot back, shifting and lowering himself down so James could climb on.
Lance had chuckled before shifting, eventually laughing at the two, nudging Brooklyn. "Awe, look at James, being carried by his little big brother."
James had cursed at them majority of the trip back, mostly to keep his mind off the shooting pain in his shoulder.
Once they got back, Drew mind linked one of the doctors, telling them what happened and that they both needed medical attention.
The pups, Andy included, had been tasked with dragging the large bear back. Andy had protested, saying she was the Luna's sister, and not even a part of the pack, so it was unfair for her to be treated like one of the pups. Brooklyn had shot her a warning look, reminding her that even though Drew was her brother, he was also a reigning alpha, whereas she only had alpha blood. The young girl had sighed, nodding, and apologized to Drew for being rude. Of course, he didn't mind, knowing she was still young and learning to hold her tongue.
One of the pack doctors met them in one of the rooms set up for medical emergencies, checking James shoulder, which was indeed broken.
"Gamma, we'll have to break the rest of them, so they heal properly." he said, sitting back and giving James a minute to think.
James sighed, placing his hand over his eyes. "Yeah, alright. Just do it."
Brooklyn had went to his side, holding his hand and giving him a rag to bite down on. "You ready?" she asked, nervous, since she had never seen the procedure of breaking and rearranging bones done.
James nodded, squeezing her hand as the doctor began. He yelled out as each bone was broken, breaking out in a cold sweat from the pain. About five minutes later, the doctor was done, and Brooklyn ran her hands through the gamma's hair soothingly. "You did good, James. Just breath."
He was taking deep breaths in, slowly letting them out. His arm was shooting with pain, radiating from his shoulder down his arm. "Fuck. I hate you, Drew. There's a reason Brooklyn's luna. She's smarter." he groaned out. He nuzzled his face into her wrist, not in a romantic way, but for comfort.
Brooklyn looked back at Drew, seeing the doctor cleaning his wounds. "Alpha, you'll need to be stitched up."
Drew nodded, only taking his eyes off James long enough to look down at the ugly cuts that ran along his chest. "Will they scar?"
"Oh yeah, for sure." replied the doctor, getting everything ready to begin stitching him.
Drew smirked, still looking at the cuts. "Hell yeah." he mumbled.
Brooklyn rolled her eyes, focusing back on James, who needed her more than her boyish alpha male. "Is the pain letting up?"
James shook his head. "No." he gritted out.
Brooklyn sighed, continuing to rub his hair. "Drew, me and you need to talk when James is feeling better."
Her voice had a hard tone to it, and Drew knew she was unhappy with him. He nodded. "Alright, babe."
