Brooklynn let out a grunt as she was thrown harshly onto the workout mat, again. Nicole stood over her, not even breaking a sweat, peering down at her with a sickly sweet smile. "You were too slow. Get up. Again."

Brooklynn groaned, doing as she was told, and clambering to her feet. She had been in Nightshade for barely a week, and Nicole already had her training. She had given her enough time to settle in, and immediately approached her with the idea of training. Drew was suppose to become alpha of Silent Ash by the end of the month, and Nicole wanted to be sure Brooklynn was ready. She didn't want the girl to sit in the house, being a glorified housewife. She wanted her to lead, to stand with Drew and lead the pack. She wouldn't be able to do that learning to knit and care for children all day.

Brooklynn had been excited with the idea, but soon started doubting herself as they began. Nicole was relentless, not going easy on her, regardless of the fact that Brooklynn had never fought a day in her life. Her dad didn't think she or Andy needed to learn. That's what a mate was for, after all.

Brooklynn readied herself again, getting down low as she waited for Nicole to attack. The blonde came at her fast, throwing a punch to her jaw. Brooklynn dodged it, barely, and slung her fist back at Nicole. The alpha caught her arm, bending it back, not enough to break it, but it still hurt. "You keep pulling your punches, and it's slowing you down. Don't pull them, just trust your instincts and let it go." Nicole said, practically tossing her aside and getting into a low crouch. "Again."

They spared for another thirty minutes, and Brooklynn slowly got the hang of it. She had originally been scared to hit Nicole, not wanting to hurt her. But at how rough she was handling her, Brooklynn finally let go, not holding back. She managed to throw Nicole back, not knocking her down, but it was progress. Nicole smirked and nodded, walking up and wrapping her up in a side hug. "You're getting it! We'll take a break, but you're not done yet."

Brooklynn smiled and nodded, accepting a bottle of water from her. "Alright. Sounds good."

Nicole patted her on the back, looking out the open door to the workout room. She could hear grunting and gave Brooklynn a look. "Come on. Drew and Aldrich must be sparing. It might do you some good to watch."

Brooklynn agreed, and together, they made their way out to the back lawn of the training area. Drew and Aldrich were circling one another, both wearing hard looks. If Brooklynn didn't know any better, she would think they were seriously fighting, what with how intense and mean their gazes were. Drew attacked first, landing a hit to Aldrich's side. The older man didn't falter, stepping back and smirking at him. "Come on, kid. I've fought seven men at once, and you think you can pin me?"

Drew smirked back, breaking the intense gaze he previously had been wearing. "Yeah, and you got your ass whooped. Didn't Nicole have to step in?"

Aldrich playfully growled, running at him, and they met each other, exchanging blows. Brooklynn and Nicole stood back, observing. Brooklyn felt a tang of worry go through her as she watched. She knew Drew was strong and could handle himself, but Aldrich was a seasoned alpha, having fought and killed more wolves than Brooklynn and Drew combined even knew. He wasn't holding back, the two of them eventually spilling blood as they continued to fight. Nicole glanced at her, wrapping her arm around her shoulders. "He's fine. They always get bloodied up sparing. Drew wants it to be as real as possible, so it's a mutual agreement. They don't hold back."

Brooklynn chewed on her bottom lip, nodding without answering. She heard Drew growl as he and Aldrich broke apart, and a second later, he had shifted. Brooklynn's eyes widened as she saw his wolf. It was her first time ever seeing him, and she was amazed. She had seen pictures of Nicole's wolf, and she was solid white, with specks of black almost splattered across her body. She had marveled at the gorgeous white wolf, but now, she marveled at her mate. He was black and white, but total opposite of his sister. His fur was mostly black, with most of the white being on his face and paws. He was beautiful. She watched Aldrich shift into a solid black wolf, his brown eyes shining as his wolf took over.
