The pack held a celebration that night, majority of the pack shifting to their wolves to greet the new alpha and luna. Drew stood at the head, with Brooklyn on his left, and Lance, then James on his right. The pack members who had decided to shift lined up before their alpha, taking turns running the length of their bodies against him. Drew would pet their heads, mumbling kind and affectionate words to each member.
Next, they would move to Brooklyn, nuzzling her affectionally, sometimes licking her hands and arms as they passed. She did the same as Drew, petting their fur and whispering kind and endearing words to them. Lance and James would be greeted next, since they had kept their positions as beta and gamma.
The pack loved them, the pack bond sizzling with love and respect for the wolves. They loved Drew, feeling his strength and want to protect them through their bond with him. He was their true alpha, and they couldn't be more pleased with him.
Nicole and Aldrich had left early to go be with Everleigh, who had been with the elder woman while they had prepared for the ceremony, and during it. Rachel and Nicollet had also left, going back to Nicollet's house, but Andy decided to stay and take part in the celebrations.
The celebrations went long into the night, food, drinks, and mingling from the pack. Near the end of the celebration, after the sun had rose in the sky, a couple of pups who had already had their first shift, nervously approached Drew and Brooklyn.
"Alpha, Luna.." the oldest, a boy of sixteen, bowed and showed his neck in submission to them, along with the three wolves with him.
"What is it?" Brooklyn asked him nicely, giving him a motherly smile as they all stood back to their regular heights.
"We were wondering, if we might could have a hunt like they did back when Alpha's father led?" the boy asked nervously, playing with his fingers that were in front of him.
Drew smirked, stepping closer to the boy, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Yeah, I think that's a great idea. What's your name?"
"Umm..Danny, Alpha." the boy replied.
Drew nodded, wrapping his arm around the boy, stepping forward to address the pack. "Danny has proposed we have a pack hunt, like they did when my father was alpha. I think it's a great idea. So, any wolves who would like to participate, gather at the tree line and we'll begin shortly. Those who wish to go home may do so."
About five wolves made it to the tree line where Drew said, already shifted and barking excitedly at the idea of a hunt. Drew smiled to Danny, telling him and his friends to head over there and they would meet them there shortly. Danny had smiled, nodding excitedly, and he and his friends shifted and ran to stand with the group already there. Drew turned to Brooklyn an excited look on his face. "Wanna go hunt before we head home, babe?"
She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, let's go." She paused, turning to Andy. "Andy, wanna join?"
Her younger sister nodded excitedly.
They quickly undressed, Brooklyn and Drew shielding Andy from view due to her age, and shifted into their wolfs. Lance and James tagged along behind them as they ran to the group that was ready to go. Drew moved to the front, Brooklyn behind him, while Lance and James flanked them. Lifting his head to the sky, Drew let out a loud howl, starting the hunt.
He led the pack, running through the woods, waiting to catch the scent of their prey. Finally, about eight or nine miles north from where they had gathered, he caught the scent of a herd of deer. Drew slowed down, putting his nose to the ground, catching the scent of the deer that was in the dirt. It was fresh, and he assumed they were only another mile away from where he and the others stood. He leaned into a crouch, moving silently against the dirt, stopping once he reached a clearing. Brooklyn slowly inched towards him, her, Lance, and James flanking him from the side.
