Drew had been treated for his wounds after he and Brooklynn left the room she had be in. He wasn't badly injured, just bruised and had a few new scars littered over his body. He wore them proud, knowing that he had gotten them defending himself and Brooklynn. They hadn't spoken anymore about the possibility of him being a Lycanthrope, and he was grateful for that. In his mind, he was just an ordinary wolf who had a rough life. He didn't want to be special, didn't want to be different. He just wanted to be Drew, the man who led Silent Ash like his father, and his father before him. He wanted to make his family name proud, his mate proud, and his people.

Being different scared him. He just wanted a semi-normal life, have his mate beside him, leading and helping grow Silent Ash to the pack it was meant to be. Maybe have a few pups of their own, boys and girls, so he could teach them how to be strong wolves, leaders. He didn't want the extra fame or ridicule he would get from being called a Lycan. He just wanted to be Drew, Alpha Danielson of Silent Ash.

The news had spread through the pack about the small group of rogues attacking, and people were on edge and panicked. They shouldn't have gotten past the border patrols, but somehow they did. It felt like the events of the years before were coming back to haunt them, and people were scared.

They turned to Aldrich and Nicole, wanting answers. Nicole called a meeting at the pack house, and invited anyone from the pack to attend. They needed to calm the pack, let them know that they were safe. About a hundred wolves gathered, not including the lower ranked officials and higher ups. They all stood patiently in the yard behind the pack house, waiting on Nicole or Aldrich to begin speaking. Brooklynn stood with Drew, Josh, Andy, and Alex off to the side, watching as Nicole stepped up to address the pack. "As you all have been made aware, we had a small rogue attack near the east border earlier today. Drew and Brooklynn were the only ones around at the start of the attack, and by the time we got there, Drew, with Brooklyn's help, had taken out the threat." Nicole paused, looking out at the large group that had assembled. "This was an isolated attack, it was not planned. The leader admitted to Drew that they had been passing through, and just so happened to cross over into the territory."

A pack member stepped up, an older man who had his mate and children with them. "And he believed that? You believe that, Alpha?"

Nicole gave him a kind smile, nodding her head. "Yes, we do. If they had been working with anyone, they would've made sure there was a way for at least one of them to escape. They were passing through, that's all. Now, would we have let them leave if they had taken the opportunity too before attacking? Probably not. But they didn't attack because they were trying to take the pack."

A few other pack members began shouting things back at her, none of them caring how Nicole reacted. They were scared that some new enemy had decided to attack their pack, and Nicole and Aldrich understood that. Brooklynn could see things weren't going the way Nicole had hoped, and she stepped to stand beside her, bowing her head in submission to her. "May I, Alpha?"

Nicole nodded, stepping back and letting Brooklyn address the pack. "When the rogues first came up, they were polite, they didn't want trouble. They saw me, an unmarked female, who didn't smell like she had been claimed. These men had been rogue for a while, you could tell by their appearance and scents, so an unclaimed female was sure to set them off. If I hadn't been there, they more than likely would have went on their way." She paused, gauging the reactions of the pack. "I know you're scared, I know the things that have happened in this pack over the years, and I don't blame you one bit for being scared. I was scared when the rogues attacked, and that was only a small group. I can only imagine how all of you are feeling. But have your alphas ever let anything happen to any of you? Have they ever let this pack fall?" She paused again, seeing the pack members think over her words. "Alpha Nicole Branson left her home pack, where she had built an empire for herself and her family, to come here and help grow this pack. When she left, she was turned on, and her home pack was left needing to be rebuilt. She stayed here, though. Because it was her duty to all of you. Rogues are increasing by the numbers everyday. Our enemies are increasing by numbers we've never seen as a people before. Now isn't the time to be afraid, because ultimately, fear leads to chaos. You all know as good as I do what happens when chaos breaks out in a pack. Look at Silent Ash." She glanced back at Nicole, who gave her a proud smile and nod, before stepping back up beside her.
