Drew was groggily waking up when Brooklyn had moved out his arms. He blinked his eyes, sighing and running a hand down his face. "Baby?" he called out.
"I'm getting in the shower." she replied from inside the closet. "You have a meeting at three with the officials and small council, and it's one o'clock. You need to get one too and get ready. Your mom said to wear a suit."
Drew groaned. He and Nicole had picked the worst night to stay up all night. "Alright, baby. I'll be in there in a minute."
He sat up, running his hand through his knotted hair. Brooklyn stepped out the closet, the houndstooth pantsuit in her hands, along with a black blouse. She laid them on the bed, then walked into the bathroom, grabbing two towels from the closet. "Come on, babe." she said, with a slight warning in her voice.
"I'm coming, I swear." Drew replied, his voice still thick with sleep. "How did you know I had a meeting?" He asked, following her into the bathroom.
"You're mom called." she said, leaning over and turning the water on, getting it to the right temperature. "I didn't want to wake you, so I just answered it."
Drew gave her a thankful smile. "Thank you. I'm sorry again about getting out of bed. Me and Nicole shared some wine and started reading about the Lycan's. We found out why what happened happened."
Brooklyn smiled back at him, looking over her shoulder. "Don't apologize. The two of you need to spend more time together just the two of you." She turned back to the shower, turning it on and standing up straight. "Tell me about it once the meeting is over."
Drew wrapped his arms around her, pulling her flush against him. "How did I get so lucky to have you?"
Brooklyn blushed, looking down, before leaning back against him. "I could say the same."
Drew leaned down, pulling her lips to his. He kissed her softly, not a kiss of lust or passion. Just love. Their new bond sizzled, and Brooklyn smiled into the kiss, pulling away. "Come on. We gotta hurry. I still have to get dressed."
Drew began undressing, pulling his pants down his waist. Brooklyn smiled, glancing at him, and began taking her clothes off also. They stepped in the large shower, Brooklyn leaning her head back and letting the water run over her. Drew ran his hands up and down her sides, leaning down to press a kiss to her mark.
Electricity shot through Brooklyn, and she couldn't stop herself from leaning into him, tilting her head to side for him to have better access. He growled, the sound coming from deep in his chest, as licked and pulled on the mark gently with his teeth. Brooklyn moaned, her hands clutching his arms, digging her nails into them as he mercilessly attacked her neck with his lips. She ran her hands up his arms, her hands meeting once they wrapped around his neck. "I want you.." she mumbled, pulling him closer to her.
"The meeting.." he trailed off, his hands moving from her waist to the flesh on her butt. He pulled and pushed at the flesh, his head moving from her neck to her jaw. He stopped, the images of her the night before flashing in his mind.
"What's wrong?" Brooklyn asked, noticing how tense he had gotten.
"Brooklyn..last night.." he mumbled, dropping his head to her shoulder as the water beat down on them both. "I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry."
Brooklyn tightened her arms around his neck, turning and pressing kisses on the skin below his ear. "It's okay, baby. You couldn't help it. I'm fine."
"You weren't fine though. The fever...it nearly killed you. What I am nearly killed you." His voice had grown angry, but not at her. He was angry with himself, at what he was. Yes, he had accepted it, but that didn't mean he liked it.
