"Jae, have you contacted the school about Jisung's condition?"
"Already did that. Even for this girl, she's one of Jisung's classmate according to the 5 boys who were off to play their games." He replied as he watched the doctor scribbling onto the paper, checking the duo in between his actions. "From the state both of them are in, they're likely to wake up tomorrow or about 4 days from now." Jae hummed as a response before making his way out of the room.
—— About 3 days later, Harin heard a monitor beeping every few seconds, after thinking she will be hearing absolutely nothing after feeling that a week had passed without any sort of nature noises or cars from outside her house honking. Her vision was blinded by a light shining directly at her the moment she flickered her eyes open. Her soft groans happened to grab the attention of the man who was busy with his assignment and lifted his head from the table.
"You're awake." That was what Harin managed to hear. Slowly looking towards the direction of the voice, she managed to see a male figure approaching her while holding something in his hand. "Drink up, your throat is most likely very dry after not drinking for almost 3 days." Harin took the glass of water and slowly drink its content before accidentally choking on it after processing what the man had said.
"...What?" That was all she managed to speak up. "You've been unconscious. For 3 days." He answered.
"Wait... if I'm unconscious, and I'm in the hospital..." Harin said to herself in a hoarse voice, placing her hand on her forehead. "Mom! Where's my mom, doctor?" She asked him.
"What?" He asked, confused by her question. "My mother. Where is she? She was beside me, she's bleeding that time." Harin answered. The man took a few seconds to digest her answer before muttering out 'oh god.' Immediately after he muttered that, he walked out in a hurry. Harin sat on the bed, fidgeting with her fingers as she waits for the 'doctor' to come back to give her the answer.
A minute had passed and the alleged 'doctor' appear back again with his face clearly showing the evidence of something bad happened to her mother.
"I'm sorry to say this, but..." The doctor only had to say the first 2 words for Harin to know, to which she covered her face with both of her hands as she let out a cry. "I'm... sorry for your loss." That was all the 'doctor' could say, slowly patting her shoulder to calm her down.
—— After what felt like hours of crying, Harin seemed to have stopped crying - in fact she was more in a distraught state in the perspective of the 'doctor'. "What happened to Jisung?" She asked.
"He's right there. Still in the process of reco- Hold on. How did you know his name?" The 'doctor' who was in the midst of doing his work asked. "He's my classmate. In fact, my childhood friend. What do you mean how do I know his name?" Harin asked back with a hint of anger in her tone of speech.
"Crap." The 'doctor' muttered to himself.
"Doyoung! There is an... emergency." A man barged into the 'hospital ward' which startled both of them, mostly the 'doctor'. The man then stopped what he was doing as he stared at both of them with his eyes looking at the 'doctor,' then Harin and back to the 'doctor' again.
"...I'm not even at the hospital, am I right?" Harin questions as she looked at the man and the alleged doctor. The 'doctor' only glared at the man, not even answering the girl's question. "I'll speak to you later. You. Out, now." He said as he looked at the girl, before looking at the man who is know slowly closing the door.
—— For an hour, Harin laid on the bed and moved her head back and forth. The needles sticked onto her arm is bringing nothing but discomfort to her. At some point, she had to hold the urge to pull them out from her arm. "Kim Harin?" A man called out as he opens the door, this time being a different person based on his facial features and his white-dyed hair. "I supposed you're wondering why are you here instead of being at the hospital itself? Am I correct?" He asked as he pulls the chair towards him and sat down. Harin only sat on the bed, not even moving a muscle.
"Just kill me already." She said, taking the man aback.
"I'm sorry?"
"Kill me. I've lost so many people I love. Just kill me, I'd rather be with my mother and brother than seeing more people I care for die in the future." She said almost quickly as a tear streamed down her face.
"What I am trying to ask right now, is would you like to join us?" He added.
