"Shit... I haven't even got the time to study for Ms Jeon's mock test. She's going to kill me if she sees that I didn't do well for the test." Haechan said as he mimicked a baby's cries.
"Coming from a person who games all night long and dozing off after 30 minutes of staring onto his notes? I doubt you'd passed her test." Renjun said as he continued drinking the carton of milk he purchased from the nearby convenience store. Chenle and Harin started laughing seeing Haechan glaring at Renjun.
—— "Alright, that's all I'm going through for today. We'll go through the remaining during our next lesson." The English teacher said before walking out of the classroom after the students greeted him. Most of the students rushed out of the classroom, dashing to the cafeteria to get their food first. Meanwhile, a few of the students including Jisung, Harin and Haechan stayed in their classroom to continue studying for the mock test that will be starting in a few hours later.
"Does anyone knows how to use the 'completing the square' method? I'm literally confused." Haechan said as he aggressively scratched his head, ruffling his hair in the process. Harin stared at him with a look of shock on her face. "We've been learning this method for the past 2 or 3 months, how is it you're still confused about it? What about all those previous assignments Ms Jeon had gave to us? Did you complete them badly?" Haechan awkwardly laughs as he scratch his nape, receiving a sigh from Harin as she pushed her chair towards where Haechan was sitting. "Here's how you use the formula. From the question... " Harin said as she used her pen to point out what Haechan should do.
As the duo were trying to learn one of the Mathematics topics, a voice was heard shouting Jisung's name which startled the trio. "Are you free after school?" Hana said as she force herself to sit beside Jisung after seeing that he used half of the chair's space to sit. "I'm busy with my part-time work." Jisung lied, not wanting Hana to disturb him. "Oh it's alright then. I'll just wait for you at the cafe there. You're still working at that cafe am I right?" Hana said. Almost a few seconds after Hana said that, Harin and Haechan stared at each other with their eyes wide open, shocked at Hana's desperation to interact with Jisung.
"Still no. I work at another cafe that is nearer to my mother's house. Plus, the cafe I work has a timing policy in which you could stay there for an hour, so good luck trying to wait from the moment I start my work up until I check out from my workplace." Jisung continued lying, his eyes still not looking away from his Mathematics notes.
"Please, could you for once hang out with me?" Hana said as she had her hand around Jisung's elbow to which he immediately pushed Hana away from him. "Are you that dumb? You see that I am not giving you any attention, meaning I do not want to be bothered. So get lost." Jisung said, raising his voice which attracted some of the students' attention who were walking outside the classroom. Hana sat there, staring daggers at Harin who was minding her business before walking out of the classroom.
—— "Why can't Hana leave you alone today? Did you do something to make her start clinging to you?" Haechan asked, seeing Jisung getting tired of Hana as the lessons for the day is slowly coming to an end.
"I don't even know. Don't even ask me about it because I genuinely do not know what the actual fuck did I do other than just being in school studying and with you guys." Jisung said with a hint of irritation in his tone. Chenle rubbed circles around his back and took Jisung's carton of chocolate milk and pull it closer towards Jisung as he says "Drink up and calm down. Say ah..." which in return, Jisung lightly pushed the carton away from him and said "I'm not a kid, Chenle!"
"Hi Jisung!"
"Oh god, give us a break..." Meiru and Harin said in unison as Harin facepalmed while Meiru rest her head on the table upon hearing Hana's voice. As soon as the duo looked away, Hana came running towards them, having a smile plastered on her face towards the group. "Y'all don't mind me sitting down here right?" Hana asked but was received with silence from the group. Nonetheless, she squeezed herself into the group, particularly sitting beside Jisung.
"So what are you planning to do after school?" Hana asked, resting her chin on her fists.
"None of your business." Jisung replied as he got up from his seat. The group looked at him for a few seconds before looking at their food back, continuing to finish the food. Jisung on the other hand, approached Harin and pulled her out of her seat.
"Seriously? You chose her over me?!" Hana yelled, grabbing the attention of almost every single student in the cafeteria. Jisung did not reply. Instead, he glared at her before whispering something to Harin, to which she nodded and got up from her seat, leaving Meiru with the group. Seeing Jisung and Harin entwining their hands together caused something in Hana to snap, as she immediately grabbed Harin's arm and held onto her hair as she slapped the girl.
Harin was struggling, trying to get away from Hana and shielding herself from her assault. Just then, Jisung stepped in between the duo and took the assault instead of Harin. "J- Jisung... I can explain what I did..." Hana awkwardly said as she slowly backs away.
Jisung instantly had his fist aiming towards Hana's face before pulling her hair and slamming it onto the table. As the girl yells in pain, Jisung pulled Harin and walked out of the cafeteria, leaving the group and a few of the students who witnessed the scene in shock.
