McCall House

Scott and Stiles and in Scott's room, listening to the tape that was in Garrett's bag, which was full of money. "You will be assigned a new IP address if you choose to continue down the list. Remember-- visual confirmation is always required for payment." The recording said. "You ever made a wire transfer?" Stiles asked. Scott shrugged. "Never had enough money." Scott said. "...So, you didn't understand a word of that, either?" Stiles asked. Scott shook his head. "I don't understand any of this. Why would someone use all this money just to kill us?" Scott asked. "Someone wants you dead, dude-- badly." Stiles said. Scott takes the stacks of money and starts putting them back in the bag.

"Whoa, whoa-- what are you doing?" Stiles asked. "It's late. We've got the PSATs in the morning." Scott said. "No, I meant the money. Five hundred thousand dollars, Scott... You know how much money that is?" Stiles asked. "It's five hundred thousand--" Scott said but Stiles cut him off. "It's half a million dollars, Scott. What are you gonna do, just slide it under your mattress?" Stiles asked. "I have to talk to Derek. The money's his..." Scott said. "You mean his and Peter's..." Stiles said. "What does that mean?" Scott asked.

"I means, maybe we should proceed with caution..." Stiles said apprehensively. "You don't think we should tell Derek?" Scott asked. "No. No." Stiles said. Stiles sighed. "No, of course we have to tell him. I'm just... I'm just saying, some of that money's Peter's, right?" Stiles said. "Yeah..." Scott said. "Right? Peter? Homicidal killer? Remember? You want to give five hundred thousand dollars to him?" Stiles asked. "So, we should give Derek his money back... but not Peter?" Scott asked in confusion. "I didn't say that..." Stiles said. "Stiles, what are you saying?" Scott asked incredulously. Before Stiles can really nail down what he means, Malia runs up the stairs to Scott's room and Scott shoves the money bag under his bed.

"We found Satomi's pack, Derek and I... But, they're dead." Malia said. "All of them?" Scott asked. "All the ones we found..." Malia said. "Then where's Derek?" Stiles asked. Before Malia could answer, Leo walked beside Malia and looked at the three. "I know that you have been focusing on the dead pool, but could you please not talk so loudly. I'm try to study for PSATs tomorrow." Leo said. Malia looked at him. "That reminds me. I need you to help me before tomorrow." Malia said. Leo sighed before he nodded. "Sure." Leo said. Before they left, Leo saw a bag under Scott's bed.

Malia and Leo walked into his room and Malia threw herself on his bed. "Did you see it as well?" Leo asked. Malia looked at him. "You mean the bag under Scott's bed?" Malia asked. Leo nodded. "What do you think's inside it?" Leo asked. Malia shrugged. "Who knows? Right now, I need help before tomorrow if I even want a chance at passing." Malia said. Leo nodded and gestured to the range of textbooks on the bed next to her. "Take your pick." Leo said. Malia picked up one of the math textbooks and the two spent the rest of the night studying for tomorrow.

The Next Day ~ Beacon Hills High School

Stiles, Scott, Leo, Malia, and Kira are in line to take the PSATs. "Where's Lydia?" Kira asked. "She took it her freshman year." Leo said. Stiles nodded before looking at him confused. "She told me." Leo said. Stiles nodded. "Does that mean I could have taken it some other time?" Malia asked. "Malia, you studied harder for this than any of us." Scott said. Leo nodded. "Yeah. I'm pretty sure you wore all my textbooks out from all the studying last night." Leo said. "Doesn't mean I'm gonna do good." Malia said. "Well." Stiles said. Malia looked at him confused.

"Well, what?" Malia asked. "It's "do well," not "do good." Stiles said. "Oh, God!" Malia said, slightly panicking. Leo glared at Stiles. "Not helping." Leo said. "Okay, okay! We're doing this, because while we're trying not to die, we stil need to live. If I survive high school, I'd like to go to college. A good college..." Scott said. "It's only three hours. We can survive three hours." Kira said. Leo nodded. As the students come in to get their tests, they mark their presence by leaving a fingerprint using an ink pad. Mrs. Martin collects all their cell phones. "Cell phone in the envelope, Scott. You'll get it back after the test." Natalie said. Scott placed his phone in the envelope and sat down.
