Lydia, Harper, Parrish, Josh and Jackson were at the first burn site in the woods, examining the scene. Lydia was knelt down picking the dirt in her hands as Harper stood next to her. "These rapid burns... there is something systematic about it." Lydia spoke. "Is she gonna keep talking like this?" Malia complained to Jackson. "I stopped listening six hours ago." Jackson replied, causing Josh to snort lightly. "All right. I'm not gonna spend the rest of the day walking through the woods, trying to catch a pyromaniac." Malia complained again, walking towards Jordan.

"Do we have a better plan?" Jackson sassed. "We already know what's kills the Oni." Malia deadpanned. "Silver." Parrish inputted. Malia pointed at him. "You with me?" She asked the deputy, who nodded. "Go. Get all the silver you can find. And if you find the Oni, don't fight them, kill them." Lydia told them sternly before Malia and Parrish walked away. Harper knelt down and started to examine the dirt just like her mother did. "It feels weird." Harper spoke up, causing the two adults and Josh to look over at her.

"The dirt in the surrounding area is a lot softer and has a deeper colour. If this was a normal fire, the soil wouldn't have been affected like this. But the soil is dry and grainy. It's been drained of its nutrition pools and water." Harper explained. Lydia knelt down next to her daughter, looking at the dirt in her daughter's hand. "You're right. Look at the colour saturation. It's decreased drastically." Lydia said. "You know what they're talking about?" Jackson asked Josh. "Not a fucking clue." Josh murmured. "So, Josh is cute isn't he?" Lydia asked her daughter teasingly. "Mom..." Harper groaned lightly.

"What? You didn't deny it." Lydia told her daughter. "It's not like anything could happen." Harper said. "Why's that?" Lydia asked confused. "Well, he's lives here and I live in San Francisco. The drive is too long." Harper said. "You mean the 2 hour and 30 minutes from here to San Francisco?" Lydia asked. "Exactly." Harper said. Lydia gave her daughter a look. "And I don't want what happened with Lucas to happen again." Harper revealed truthfully. Lydia sighed, wrapping her arm around Harper's shoulders. "You can't let that one thing stop you from having a love life." Lydia told her daughter.

"It's not that." Harper told her mother. Lydia gave her a curious look. "It's that fact I wanted to do it. It's like something in me just switched on like a lightbulb. One second I'm reading a note and then the next, I'm siding my siren song to convince Lucas to stand in the road and get run over. And the worst part is that I wanted to do it. I enjoyed that feeling. That power. And I hate that I loved it. And I don't want it to happen again. What if I got into an argument with a new boyfriend and that lightbulb goes on again and I'm convincing him to take a chef knife and stab himself?" Harper ranted. Lydia looked at her sadly as she took in every word.

"I don't want it to happen again. But I know that it will. Just because I didn't get the wolf gene doesn't mean I didn't get the anger issues gene." Harper told her mother. "Let me guess, you got that from your dad?" Lydia asked. "Who said I got them from dad?" Harper asked teasingly. Lydia gasped mockingly as Harper chuckled. "I saw him, you know." Harper said. Lydia gave her a confused look. "Dad. I saw him. When he was looking at me, his eyes weren't showing hatred or anger. They were full of curiosity. He didn't want to kill me." Harper told her mother. Lydia looked conflicted by her daughter's words, thinking about how Leo didn't want to kill Harper.

Allison and Leo were guiding Scott through the woods. Leo was holding his shotgun axe in hand, ready in case anything jumped them whilst Allison kept Scott moving. "We're heading back to the main road, aren't we?" Scott asked as Allison shoved him, her knife in her hand. "And my blood, it's going to lure them." Scott said. "I wouldn't be so sure about that." Leo said. Scott turned his head slightly. "I cloaked you. Your scent, your body, your mind, your aura. No one will be finding you unless I want them to." Leo told the Alpha.
