What You Defend Them For

Frodo: You defend him when everyone is putting a lot of pressure on him, you think its unnatural and quite foolish to lay every responsibility on one small hobbit and putting pressure on him for it. Especially when he had to carry the ring to mordor

Sam: The only time you defend him is when Gollum insults him other than that no one ever says anything mean or insulting towards Sam and you thank everyone for that

 Pippin: People like to bully him and insult him for having lack of brain cells sure it may be true but most of his stunts were accidents so you always stand up for him when someone insults him for "being stupid" hes not stupid just young 

Merry: You dont. Merry is perfectly capable to take care of himself and not a lot of people insult him and when they do hes usually the one to stand up for himself which you find courageous in a way 

Legolas: You usually stand up for him when people talk bad about him when they say things along the line of hes a stuck up prince or only cares for himself non of it was true at all and youd do anything to prove that 

Bilbo: You dont ind him being introverted a bad thing, yet a lot of other hobbits do. And they get mad and are quite rude when he doesnt show up to big events or partys or go out much which you would happily defend him for it wasnt a bad thing if anything it kept him all to yourself
