Bad moods. Everyone gets them. Frodo gets them, Sam gets them Bilbo gets them everyone gets them. But someone who always gets them is Merry.
And Merry was very temperamental, which didnt mix well with your sarcastic smartass attitude.
Today you and Merry were going on a walk in the woods. It was your guys favorite spot to be at together especially when Merry needed to calm down. You were both sitting in a tree together Merry still looking and acting pissed as he pulled off twigs and threw them in the small creek below you.
"Merry" You said looking at him your arms crossed but not out of annoyance
He muttered something under his breath throwing a few more sticks
"Merry!" you said a tad more stern, but all he did was roll his eyes
"Meriadoc Brandybuck do not ignore me" That was enough to get his attention
"What" He asks blatantly glaring at you
You crossed your legs and leaned against to bark of the tree balancing yourself so you wouldnt fall as Merry straightened his posture to look at you
"We need to talk"
"About" He replied harshly
That was enough to make your own self angry and you hit him on his head lightly with your fist.
"Your horrible attitude! Your being very very mean and its not ok"
"You say that like a kid, oH yOuR bEiNg MeAn" He mocked
You stuck your tongue out at him with a pout as he suddenly pushed you out the tree. Thankfully the tree wasnt that tall but it still hurt feeling your back land on the hard grass
"OW! Whats your problem!" You yelled up at him rubbing your head before he jumped down in front of you
"Oh please dont be so sensitive" He said looking down on you
You then had an idea. You got up stared at him for a second then you started to get teary eyed.
"Your being so mean to me...i guess you dont love me anymore do you" You said starting to spill out tears.
His eyes widened and he looked at you in shock. He made you cry. Or at least thats what he thinks he was speechless frozen in shock. He tried to reach out his hand to you but you turned yur back for extra dramatic effect.
"What n-no love thats not-" He tried to stutter out to try and figure out what to say
"Seriously so cruel! You mock me make fun or me then push me out a tree!" *You kept crying and crossed your arms
He sighed and went over to you resting his head on your shoulder
"Im sorry ok I didnt mean to make you cry..." He said softly lowering his voice to a whisper
You still didnt answer. That just made him feel like even more of a jerk than he already was
"How about this...I take you back to town, we can get snakcs go back home and cuddle up on the couch after a nice meal and I wont be a jerk about it"
You turned around and sniffled wiping away your fake tears "Really..."
"Really" He smiled
You smiled brightly and jumped into his arms hugging him tight, he recoiled back and almost fell at the sudden contact but steadied himself enough and held onto you so the both of you wouldnt fall. You then pulled back and kissed his cheek
"Thank you!" You said with a smile, that got his attention real quick seeing you were completely fine
"You were faking werent you" He said blankly
"Of course I was" You smiled and nodded now going past him and walking back in the direction of town
"You coming or not" You called out
He watched you and sighed with a slight smile, god was he in love with you but oh how you infuriated him
"Yeah yeah im coming" He sighed and shook his head walking with you
You smiled and grabbed his hand ragging him along. Best part he couldnt be a jerk about it.
