Aragorn x Reader

"Shit" You mumbled under your breath clutching your shoulder 

The poison was rushing through you fast. The Balrog that you were running from just seemed to get closer and closer. Everything began to become a blur and you began to run slower than everyone else. Your breathing was heavy and your eyes couldnt stay open. You could see everyones blurred out silhouettes 

"Y/n!" You hear someone yell, It sounded like Legolas 

Before you knew it you saw Legolas' long blonde locks come up to you. Feeling a hand grab onto your free arm not shot with an arrow and it being wrapped around him you felt your feet being lifted up off the ground. Suddenly looking up everyones silhouettes were slowly going out of your vision. Except one, it came closer and closer 

"Its getting worse Aragorn we have to get them help" You heard Legolas say 

Without thinking who you presumed to be Aragorn by the way he grabbed onto your hand helped Legolas get you out. You winced in pain as you then felt the stabbing pain of the arrow. At first you never felt it because the poison was doing its work but now you really felt the pain in your shoulder 

"Shes going unconscious" You heard Aragorn say, you knew it was him right then 

Feeling you body relax whether it was being within Aragorns care or the fact the poison was finally reaching its final stage your eyes began to close. And everything went black and your body went limp. 

~Timeskip~

You shifted uncomfortably in your sleep, breathing heavily and then everything went black. 

You jolted upright waking from the sudden bad dream your breathing was unsteady and you looked around frantically. You look around to see you were in some sort of a dark burrow it was dark outside and you could see the rest of the company beside you sleeping soundly. 

"Shit..." You breathed as you began to take in the familiar surroundings 

You were in Lorien. But, how did you get there 

As soon as you became more relaxed and have taken in where you are, you felt a sudden sharp pain you your shoulder. Clutching it tight realizing it hurt you realized it was wrapped and the surface was barely just soaked in blood. Looking down you realized you were in different clothes, your hair had been brushed, and all of your equipment was off to the side. Sighing heavily not wanting to wake everyone you relax your arm, but just then your body decided it was a perfect time to go into a coughing fit. 

"Y/n!" You heard someone say urgently and rush over to your side

You felt a hand on your back and their other hand on your hand as you continued to cough. Upon the persons touch you realized who it was. The same touch who helped you up. Aragorn

"A-aragorn" You managed to squeak out as your coughing died down a bit 

"Here take this"He replied calmly handing you a small glass of water and a piece of what seemed to be Lembas bread 

"Thank you" You said grabbing the water and chugging it 

Aragorn settled himself beside you seeming calm. Once you were done and had calmed down you looked around seeing everyone asleep. It seemed peaceful the chirpping of the crickets outside in the grass the small snores of Gimli sleeping by Legolas and the occasional groans of Merry after Pippin had kicked him slightly in their sleep. It made you giggle. 

"Lorien?" You asked turning to Aragorn wanting to make sure you were where you thought you were 

"Yep" He said sitting back up positioning himself closer to you to look you in the eye 

"How did we-" You started before Aragorn spoke again 

"We rushed out of the tomb as quickly as we could Gandalf fought off the Balrog, once we got out we were caught by non other than your brothers company" Aragorn smiled (idk if thats how it went its been so long since ive watched it if i got this wrong im sorry) 

You gasped "Wait Haldir!" Aragorn nods in response "Where is he?" You ask 

"Preparing for tomorrow"

"Whats tomorrow"

"Were leaving tomorrow morning, to continue we cant lose anymore time"

Thats right you guys had a quest, this entire time even though it was the whole main focus of the journey it seems like the ring was forgotten like a lost subject to you. Aragorn continued with his story 

"I showed Haldir the state you were in and in a panic he rushed you to get you healed, took a while and we were all worried for you. They changed you clothes fixed you all up and everything and once you were resting brought you back here with us"

"Yeah I can tell" You say looking down at your bandage 

He chuckled and the whole room became silent again. 

"Thank you...for everything" You blurt out reverting your gaze back to his eyes. They send a shock down your spine he showed no emotion in his face and it was rather carried in his eyes and they showed concern and worry as well as the deep affection he had for you. 

"Are you feeling better?" He asks 

You nod in response before he pulls something out of his pocket 

"Lady Galadriel wanted me to hand this off to you when you woke up" He handed it to you 

"Lady Galadriel?" You ask as you open up the piece of leather

Inside was a small chain and on the end hanging off it was different forest trinkets. There was a small pine cone, a mushroom cap, an acorn and a small crystal. 

You knew what it was. Once you had gone to Galadriel for help expressing your feelings and she helped you realize you were in love with Aragorn. She told you to get some things that reminded you or Aragorn and give them to her, luckily from previous journeys you had collected a small amount of trinkets you found of your journey with Aragorn that held memories you shared together. 

You had given them to her and she took them and said you would receive them when the time was right. 

That was all she told you and at the time it never occurred to you what 'right time' meant. But sitting here now with it in your hand you had finally understood. You look back up at him and decided now was when you had to do it. 

"Aragorn..."

"Yes" He replied softly 

The room was silent before leaning forward, you placed a sweet soft kiss on his cheek

"Thank you" You said as you pulled away

Upon pulling away you felt him grab your hand squeezing it and pulling you back towards him causing your lips to crash onto his. It took a second to comprehend what had happened but you did. It was long and sweet. 

Soon, what felt like too soon you both had to pull away for a small breath of air

"Your welcome" He replied to your previosu statement 

The awkward silence filled the room once again before you broke out chuckling 

"Dont tell Haldir he will kill you" You gained a soft chuckle from him as well 

"Ok well get some rest we have a big day tomorrow" He said slightly kissing your forehead before climbing back into his own sleeping arrangements 

"Yeah" You replied, you couldnt stop yourself from smiling 

Except for the fact it was kind of hard to get in a comfortable sleeping position with your shoulder.
