Kristen and Idina were outside when suddenly, they saw a raindrop.
"Idina! Kristen! Come inside. It's raining" Meg called.
Kristen obliged, but Idina stayed out and caught raindrops with her tongue.
"Idina luv, it's raining. You'll get wet if you stay out here" said Chad.
"Outside" said Idina.
"Honey, you can't play outside in this rain. You could catch a cold" said Meg.
"Outside!" Idina protested.
"Oh, alright. You and Kristen can play outside. But first, you have to get dressed for the rain" said Chad.
Idina nodded and came inside.
"The first thing you girls should do is put on boots. Rubber boots that'll keep your feet nice and dry in the rain" said Meg.
Kristen put her boots on, but Idina managed to get one foot into a boot, then impatiently darted back to the door.
"I see you, Idina" said Chad.
"Outside" said Idina.
"You can't go outside with one boot on, Idina. Put on the other" said Meg.
Idina did as she was told. When she tried to escape again, she fell down.
"Something's not right" said Meg.
"Idina, sweet... let's see about those boots" said Chad.
He looked at Idina's boots and said "You've got them on the wrong feet! Let me fix that for you, love".
Chad switched Idina's boots and she gripped his hand to thank him.
Then she tried to leave again.
"Idina? Where are you going?" said Meg.
"Outside" said Idina.
Chad laughed and said "Not yet, sweet. You can't go outside with just your boots on".
"Right. You also need a raincoat or slicker. They're called slickers because they're slick enough to not soak in the rain" said Meg.
"Slicker" said Kristen with a smile.
The girls put on their raincoats.
"Very good. Now you just need rain hats to keep your heads dry" said Meg.
The girls put on hats as they were told.
"Good. Now you're both dressed for the rain" said Chad.
"Except for one more little thing. Umbrellas. With umbrellas over your heads, you won't have to worry about getting any rain on you anywhere" said Meg.
Kristen took an umbrella and opened it.
"Oh no, Kristen. Never open an umbrella in the house. That's bad luck" said Chad.
Kristen trusted her father's words and closed her umbrella.
"Outside" said Idina.
"Yes, Idina. Now you can go outside" said Meg.
The girls went outside and opened their umbrellas.
But after a few seconds, the rain stopped.
Idina was so disappointed at that. She was so excited to be dressed for the rain and play in it.
Kristen could see the look on her sister's face and got an idea.
She grabbed the garden hose and turned on the water.
Then she aimed it at the sky to make Idina think it was raining.
Idina was kind of confused because the sun was out.
She turned around and saw her sister holding the hose.
"Rain" said Kristen.
Idina was so happy, she hugged Kristen then played in the rain from the hose.
