The Married Life of Chad and Meg

Chad's Candy Store

Summary: Chad and Kristen go help out Patty at her candy store.

Chad had just arrived at the candy store to help out his friend Patty Lane. 

His daughter Kristen had come along too. 

Kristen, being the cute little toddler that she was, tried to sample one of Patty's candies.

"Candy" said Kristen.

"No no, Kristen. We're not here to eat the candy. We're here to help sell it" said Chad constructively. 

Patty showed her face and grinned at her friends.

"And not a second too soon, Chad old pal! Hi, Kristen" she said.

"Hello, Patty. Kristen, say 'hello, Patty'." said Chad.

"Hello, Patty" said Kristen.

"Hi, honey" Patty whispered as she waved at Kristen.

"So what are we doing today?" said Chad.

"Glad you asked. I just got a new candy shipment. And you are gonna design a display, Chad" said Patty enthusiastically.

"Me? Design a candy display?" said Chad.

"Sure! You got the sense of organization for it" said Patty.

"Why, it does sound fun" said Chad.

"Candy" said Kristen to agree.

She tried to grab some candy, but Chad pulled her back.

"Uh-uh-uh, Kristen. No eating" he said.

He turned back to Patty and said "I think you have one of the best jobs".

"One of? I might have the best job, Chad!" said Patty.

"Now then. What would you like me to do?" said Chad.

"Come to the back room with me and get more candies for display" said Patty.

Kristen was still looking at the candies.

"Oh, just a minute, Patty. Kristen, you can't eat these candies. Just because they're fruit flavored doesn't mean it's good for you" said Chad.

Kristen hung her head.

"Now don't be like that, luv. I brought you some real fruit. It's tasty like candy, but it's also good for you" said Chad.

Kristen reluctantly accepted the fruit while Chad went to the back room with Patty.

"What do I need to know to be a good candy store owner, Patty?" said Chad.

"Know your product. Ya can't sell the candy unless you know it's good" answered Patty.

"My. Does that mean I get to taste these candies?" said Chad.

"It's your job. How else can you know they're good?" said Patty.

"Blimey! Now I'm positive you have the best job" said Chad.

"Now you're talkin', Stuart!" said Patty. 

Chad took a display case of lemony candies and put it in front of a window. As it was his job, he tried one of the candies.

"Candy" said Kristen jealously. 

"Oh, Kristen. I'm not eating the candy because I want to. I'm eating the candy because it's my job" said Chad.

"Candy" said Kristen crossing her arms.
