Meg had just put on a purple cape and Egyptian-style headdress.

Her brother Charles Wallace and friends Sam Pan and Calvin O'Keeffe were there too.

"Meg! You look fantastic!" said Sam.

"Please, please. Call me Meg the Great. The all-known all-seeing incredible fortune teller" said Meg.

"Can you tell my fortune?" said Charles Wallace.

"Yes. I see lots and lots of people coming to our penny carnival" said Meg.

"I sure hope so. Chad said he needs a lot of money so he can go on his upcoming Actorville voyage" said Calvin.

"Then we're gonna need lots and lots of pennies" said Sam.

Kristen and Idina then jump-scared the kids wearing dragon masks.

"Grr! Scary" they said.

"Oh, girls. What do you think of my outfit?" said Meg.

"She's Meg the Great. The incredible fortune teller" said Sam.

"Do you two know what a fortune teller is?" said Calvin.

Idina and Kristen both shrugged.

"A fortune teller can tell what's going to happen in the future. Would you like me to tell your fortunes?" said Meg.

The girls nodded and Meg put her hands on their foreheads.

"I see two little girls helping their mother so her penny carnival is a big success. Do you know how you can do that?" said Meg.

"Grr! Scary" said Kristen.

Meg laughed and said "You can't help by being scary. But you can help by going somewhere else to play".

Kristen and Idina did as told.

"What do we do next, Meg? I mean, Meg the Great" said Charles Wallace.

"I see us setting up my fortune telling table" said Meg.

The kids brought a table into the backyard and put a purple table cloth with gold trim on it.

"This table cloth would go great with my crystal ball" said Meg.

"It's pretty" said Calvin.

"Does it really work?" said Charles Wallace.

"Only when Meg the Great looks into it, we'll all be revealed" said Meg mysteriously.

"What do you see?" said Sam.

"I see... I see..." Meg whispered.

But then she saw the reflection of...

"Agh! A big hairy spider!" Meg gasped.

"Scary" said Idina.

"Idina! You're supposed to be putting your toys away. Not scaring us. We have a lot to do before everyone arrives. Now take your spider somewhere else" said Meg.

Idina did as told.

"What do we do next?" Calvin asked Meg.

"Let's set up the beanbag toss" said Meg.

"Sure. That's gonna be my table" said Charles Wallace.

The stand that the beanbags were supposed to be tossed through was a picture of a lion head with a hole in his open mouth.

"Why don't you give it a try, Meg?" said Sam.

"Sure. Meg the Great sees this beanbag going right into that lions mouth" said Meg.

She was about to throw her beanbag, but then Kristen showed a toy bat to the kids.

"Rawr! Scary" she said.

"Kristen, you made me miss my shot. Take your scary bat somewhere else" said Meg.

"What else do we set up?" said Sam.

"Sam, your table is the music one. People pay with pennies to see you play something" said Meg.

"But what instrument do I play?" said Sam.

"It's a good thing Meg's married to a musician" said Charles Wallace.

"Oh yeah. I'll go ask Chad if I can use his guitar for the carnival" said Sam.

She went inside where Chad was actually playing his guitar.

"Oh, hello, Sam" said Chad with a smile.

"Hey, Chad darlin'. We're setting up for the penny carnival and Meg wants me to play guitar. Can I use yours?" said Sam.

"Certainly you can. Just be careful with it" said Chad.

"I'll treat it as if it was my own" said Sam.

She went back outside where her friends were waiting.

"You're all set, Sam. All you have to do is stand here and play that guitar" said Calvin.

"Cool. What else do we have to set up, Meg?" said Sam.

"Only the most important table of all" said Meg.

"The sweets table!" the kids finished in unison.

Meg put another table in the yard and put a pink and white table cloth on it.

"Perfect" she said.

"Um.. isn't our sweets table missing something?" said Calvin.

"Sweets!" said the kids in unison.

"Getting 'em will be easy for Chad, Meg, because your the only 'sweet' he'll ever need" Sam joked.

"Very funny, Sam. Now, the real sweets are in the kitchen" said Meg.

The kids brought out trays of desserts, but found one that they hadn't brought on the table.

Meg uncovered the plate and it was decorated with spooky candies.

"Grr! Scary!" said Idina and Kristen.

"Girls, you're gonna scare all of our customers away! Go be scary someplace else!" Meg scolded.

Soon enough, the kids were getting dozens of customers at their penny carnival.

But then, every single customer was lined up at the garden shed.

Meg hurried over there to see what the commotion was.

"Oh my" said Chad as he exited the shed.

"Chad, what's going on? Are Idina and Kristen in there?" said Meg suspiciously.

"Yes they are, Meg sweet" said Chad.

Then he laughed a little and said "Be careful".

The four kids entered the shed and saw every scary thing they saw before.

Idina and Kristen jump scared them and said "Grr! Scary!"

"Girls! What are you doing? Come on out!" said Meg.

The girls sadly did as told.

"That was fun!" said Sam.

"Fun?" said Meg.

"Sure" said Charles Wallace.

"What a good idea to have a haunted house" said Chad.

"Haunted house?" said Meg.

"Of course. People do like to be scared" said Chad.

"It sure looks like it" said Calvin gesturing to the line of customers.

"Meg the Great can see everybody at the penny carnival will love Idina and Kristen's haunted house, because it's..." Meg began.

"Grr! Scary!" the girls finished in unison.
