Chad and Jeremy were each painting a picture of a bowl of fruit. They had a real bowl of fruit as a model.
"May I have some more red paint for my apple please, Chad the lad?" said Jeremy.
"Certainly, Jeremy. I'm finished with red" said Chad as he painted a banana yellow.
Jeremy took the jar of red paint and painted an apple with it.
"Thanks again for helping me paint something for the Disney Actorville Art Exhibit" said Chad.
"Well, it is good practice. I'm no expert, but I've gathered that in order for the actors to know their project, they need to know what part others have in it" said Jeremy.
"Oh, yes. The animators do a lot of drawing and painting. They use models too" said Chad.
His daughters Idina and Kristen were passing by when they saw the fruit.
Idina picked up a banana and ate it.
"Idina? What are you doing?" said Chad.
"What else? She's eating our picture" said Jeremy.
"Idina. That fruit isn't for eating; it's for painting" said Chad.
Idina snatched her father's paintbrush and painted the real fruit yellow.
"Paint" she said.
Chad laughed and said "Idina, we're not painting the fruit. We're painting pictures of fruit for Actorville.
"Not anymore. Now we don't have anything to paint" said Jeremy.
"Bad 'Dina. Bad 'Dina" said Kristen wagging her finger.
"Sorry" said Idina shamefully.
"Aw, that's okay, Idina. You didn't know" said Jeremy as he picked the girl up to give her a hug.
"And I think I know how you can make up for it. Would you like to model for us so we can paint a picture of you?" said Chad.
Idina squealed and clapped her hands.
"Kristen, would you like to be painted too?" said Jeremy.
"No" said Kristen.
Chad dressed Idina in a pretty blue dress and pearl necklace.
"You're the perfect model, Idina" said Jeremy.
"Now stand here. And smile" said Chad.
Idina posed and smiled.
"Now don't move" said Chad.
"I'm gonna paint the best Idina picture ever" said Jeremy.
"Me too" said Chad.
At some point, Idina got bored and jumped off her table and dipped her finger in Chad's paint.
"Idina, no. A model has to be very still" said Chad.
"Ah, daughters" Jeremy sighed.
"Art is hard work, luv. It's not just messing with paint" said Chad.
"A painter has to know everything about shape and color" Jeremy added.
"Precisely. Like this for instance. With just red, blue and yellow, you can mix all the colors of the rainbow" said Chad.
"Paint" said Idina.
"You have to learn about art in school before you can mix paints, sweet" said Chad.
"Chad, we should give her a break anyway. All this artwork is making me hungry" said Jeremy.
"Me too. Let's get a snack" said Chad.
Inside, while Chad and Jeremy snacked on carrots, Idina explored colors with condiments.
"Paint" she said.
A few seconds later...
"Back to modeling, Idina" said Chad.
Idina stood back up on her table.
"Now stay still, Idina. We're going to paint your face" said Jeremy.
He tried to paint Idina's face, but it wasn't perfect.
"Oh dear. I can't seem to get Idina's nose right. Her eyes are in the wrong place" said Jeremy.
"Painting faces is hard, Jeremy. Maybe I can help. I've been looking at Idina for a long time" said Chad.
He painted his daughter's face perfectly.
"Chad the lad! Yours looks just like her" said Jeremy.
"You think so?" said Chad.
"Of course! See her smile here? And see her smile in real life? And what you did here is exactly the way her hands are" said Jeremy.
"Oh my! I forgot to sign my name" said Chad with a laugh.
"Then you better see to it" said Jeremy.
"Painted by Chad Stuart... and the date" said Chad as he painted his name on the canvas.
Then he looked at Jeremy's painting and admired it.
"I really like your painting, Jeremy. It really looks like Idina" he said.
"Really? I'm not sure" said Jeremy.
"I mean it. Look at her dress and necklace" said Chad.
He looked at Idina and she wasn't wearing her necklace.
"Blimey..." Chad whispered.
"Blimey what?" said Jeremy.
"I thought Idina was wearing a necklace" said Chad.
"She is" said Jeremy.
Then he had a look himself and also didn't see a necklace on Idina.
"That's funny. I was certain she had a necklace on" said Jeremy.
"So was I. I painted one too" said Chad.
But then he saw Idina's necklace right behind the table.
"Oh, Idina. You played a trick on us" said Jeremy.
"My little trickster. Alright, Idina. You can get down" said Chad.
Idina jumped off the table with excitement.
"Paint" she said.
"I'm sorry, Idina. It's time to clean up" said Chad.
"Don't forget the paintbrushes" said Jeremy.
As the men left, Idina put her hands in the paint and started putting hand prints on her arms and face.
Inside...
"After we present our paintings in Actorville, I think I'll give my Idina painting to Meg as a present" said Chad.
"She'll love that" said Jeremy.
Coincidentally, Meg had just gotten home from work.
"Hi, honey. Hi, Jeremy. I can't wait to see your paintings" she said.
"We'll be right out, luv" said Jeremy.
The two men greeted Meg outside and presented their paintings to her.
"Which do you like?" said Chad.
"I like all three Idina paintings" said Meg.
"But we only did two. My painting and Jeremy's painting" said Chad.
"And Idina's painting" said Meg.
"Idina? What did Idina paint?" said Jeremy.
"Me" said Idina revealing her paint-stained body.
