The Married Life of Chad and Meg

Idina's Halloween

Summary: Meg wants Idina and Kristen to both dress up as princesses for halloween, but Idina would rather be a vampire.

Meg had just lit up a jack-o-lantern next to the front door of her house.

"Now we're all ready for Halloween" she said.

In their room, Idina and Kristen were putting on their costumes to go trick-or-treating. 

"Oh, girls! I promised we'd go trick or treating as soon as Daddy comes home. He's on his way so you two better put on your costumes" said Meg.

Idina had already put a set of vampire teeth in her mouth.

She jumped at Meg and said "Vampire!"

"Agh! Oh, Idina. That's too scary, honey. Now hand over the teeth" said Meg.

Idina did as told.

"Kristen said she's gonna go trick-or-treating dressed up like a princess. So I suggest you do that too. I bought you a dress" said Meg.

Kristen put on her pink princess dress and tiara.

"You look lovely, Kristen. Your turn, Idina" said Meg.

But by the time she said that, Idina had already put in a new set of teeth and put on a black dress and green claw.

"Vampire!" she said.

"Princesses do not have oozing cherry syrup vampire teeth, Idina" said Meg.

"My teeth!" said Kristen.

"Oh yeah. You bought these with Daddy, didn't you?" said Meg.

"Sorry, Kristen" said Idina hanging her head.

"Now hand them over. Princesses don't have fake hands either. And they don't wear black dresses. Now put on the one I bought you" said Meg.

Then she took Kristen to do her princess makeup.

"The secret to good makeup is not to overdo it" said Meg.

"Okay, Mummy" said Kristen. 

Meg powdered Kristen's face and put pink lipstick on her lips.

"Lovely" said Meg.

But before she could do Idina's makeup, she had already put in more vampire teeth. She stayed in her black dress and held a bat.

"For the third time, Idina, no vampires. You're father's home, so you better be changed in five minutes" said Meg taking the new set of teeth away.

As Chad walked in the door, Meg and Kristen approached.

"Your majesty" said Chad when he saw Kristen's princess costume.

Kristen laughed at her father's words and let him give her a big hug.

"Where's Idina?" said Chad.

"She's changing" said Meg.

Idina came down still in her black dress and with a new set of vampire teeth and still held her bat.

"Vampire!" she growled.

"Ooh! Scary" said Chad with a smile.

"How many sets of teeth do you have, Idina? I told you to match your sister!" said Meg.

"Meg. It's okay. I love her vampire costume" said Chad.

"You do? You'd be the only one" said Meg.

"Meg..." said Chad strictly.

"Fine. Idina, you can be a scary vampire. But scary vampires don't get treats" said Meg.

To agree with her mother, Kristen blew a raspberry in her sister's face.

Idina hung her head.

"Oh, Idina darling, she's just kidding. Everyone gets treats. Even vampires" said Chad lovingly.

The family went out trick or treating to Chad's mother's house.

Alice Chadwick's house was decorated with cobwebs and spiders.

Meg rang the bell and Alice answered. She was also wearing vampire teeth and a black cape.

"Good evening" she said.

"Vampire!" said Idina and Chad together.
