You were a dream in my head
That came to life
You showed me things and never shielded my eyes
You took my hands and painted them your favorite color
A vibrant red to match your eyes
You never hid me away
Or tied me down
You held your knife to my throat
And told me "I'm not afraid"
When you hugged me
You did it to show me
Pressure can be shown in different ways
Love wasn't a dream with you
Your love was tangible and vain
It wasn't conjured to please
It wasn't molded to be seen as anything
other than reality.
