everytime we say no

everytime we say no, it is a no;
it isn't a maybe, it isn't a game we play;
it isn't us thinking maybe he'll see what my eyes say;
because our eyes will speak opposition,
we don't refuse just to have fun;
or to pull your leg,
or to make you beg.
we refuse because we want to.

and a no is a no even if it is said in meek voice,
a no is a no because we know we have our say in the choice;
a no is a no everytime we fear your presence,
a no is a no, either told once or times immense;
we know you want us to submit,
because that's what according to your definition of a 'perfect woman's fits;
but we also know what we are made for,
we know we are honey for some nasty bees to lure;
but are we meant to be what we know we are?

we are told to cover ourselves up,
yet not being stared at seems tough;
we are told to cage ourselves,
because some disgusting beings to not get the needed help;
yes, everyone who thinks a no is an invitation needs aid,
because that dumb assumption of yours has to fade;
and yes, everyone who thinks we are meant to endure pain,
know that your birth in itself has gone to vain;
is it only pain to suffer through which a woman you train?

stepping away is a no,
not responding is a no,
and it isn't any hints that we throw.
looking away is a no,
and that every human on earth should know;
we aren't meant to be in,
while there exist monsters out there that grin;
we aren't meant to give up on our dreams,
just because we are afraid of our own murderous screams;
we are meant to fight,
we are needed to revolt much to our own delight;
but then why aren't we taught of being our own light?
