« standstills in life »

• THE START •

as we approach standstill in life,
we feel demotivated and the fear of not being able to thrive;
we begin assuming life isn't worth,
we start to sulk in a phase of dearth;
but who says, slowing down is stopping?
who says success isn't yours unless you're tedious and all around the place hopping?
who defines how your dreams are achieved?
who gets to tell how many efforts to reach your goals have to be weaved?
no one, but you do;
and that realisation comes to a very few;
we are all so lost in the race of time,
that we start ignoring the people for whom we earn every dime.
so invested in the worries of life,
that in happy and content memories we fail to dive;
so shattered over failures,
we unsee the opportunities around us that lure;
and so twisted in our desires,
that we fail to recognize what we aspire.
and yet through life we go.
just because it is how people expect it to be,
and we try ourselves to shackles and forget about being free;
we hold on because we are too scared to let go,
we continuously hop on to the top because we are too afraid of staying low;
everything we do, ends up in a competition with each other;
and yet we vow how we'd always be there for one another.
life is too short to be lived on apprehensions,
before we even know we'll have to depart leaving behind everything we had earned in tonnes;
so sometimes, it should feel okay to just have fun;
not worrying about what would happen tomorrow as would rise the sun.
