"Rias, must you sneak into my bed every night?" The crimson-haired devil lifts her head and looks into my eyes.
"I can't help it. You're far too comfortable to lay with, and I don't want to sleep by myself anymore." She lifts herself from the bed and grabs her clothes. "I'll make you some breakfast before school."
"Now that's something I can get behind." As Rias begins her work in the kitchen I open the front door of my home, taking in the clean mountain air as it breezes inside. "Do you truly enjoy it up here Rias?"
"I do. There's nothing inherently wrong with Kuoh, but everything feels nicer here. It also helps that there is no one around to bother us."
"I should invite the rest of your peerage up here sometime, I'm sure they would enjoy it." I hear Rias set something down and turn my attention to her.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea. That being said, the old school building is being cleaned after school today so we're going to be having our club meeting at Issei's."
"Interesting." I look down at the plate in front of me. "This looks better than normal Rias. It's almost like you put effort into this one." Rias rolls her eyes and sits down next to me. "Come on, I was making a joke."
"Jokes are supposed to be funny Y/N."
"Because you're the queen of comedy." I go to take a bite of my breakfast and she grabs my hand, attempting to pull it away from me. Her attempt ends up in vain, however, as she ends up falling into my lap as I dig in. "You're lucky I love you." After pulling herself up she plants her lips on my cheek.
"It's so cute how you blush when I kiss your cheek."
"Is it? I never would have guessed." We finish our breakfast and I look toward the back window. "Thankfully we still have plenty of time before school."
"I'll head back and get ready."
"Are you still embarrassed by what your mom said the other day?" My question stops Rias in her tracks. "She wants the best for you, that's clear to see."
"Have you talked to Akeno about it?"
"I haven't had the chance, but she hasn't acted any different around me." I walk toward Rias and wrap my arms around her waist. "If it makes you feel better I can talk to her after school, but I think you're worrying too much about it."
"It would set my mind at ease."
"Then I'll take care of it." I let Rias go as a transport circle forms at her feet. "See you soon." She leaves without another word and I head out toward the back of my house, stripping my clothes off and entering a small spring I've built for bathing purposes. While it doesn't do as well as a shower could, it works for what it is. After finishing up I grab my school uniform and put it on, heading around the front of my house to see Chi-Chi waiting for me.
"Hi Y/N."
"Hey! I haven't seen you since the whole Riser thing." I approach her and look her over. "Kami has made you much stronger, I can tell."
"It still seems like I'm leagues behind you though," Chi-Chi responds quietly.
"You shouldn't be disappointed, you're doing a great job. We'll have to talk about it after school." I call for Nimbus and we board it, spending our flight to school discussing the basics of our training. Once we arrive we both dismount and walk toward the main building, the student body buzzing as today is our first day back to school since Riser appeared.
Later That Day
"Y/N, could you do me a favor?" I look over at Rias.
"Yeah, what's up?"
