Chapter Ten

"Ready for school?" Rei asked as Mat came out of his room holding his back pack. "See you later." Kait said as she closed the door "Um actually, Kait do you want to come to school with us?" Mat asked "Yes, I would love to, let me get ready!" Kait said as she quickly got dressed and came out of the room. "Is Sel finally gonna interact with us after you know what." Mat asked, walking to the car. "I think he's going with Kevin to school. I'm sure he'll eventually have to talk to us." Rei said as he got in the driver's seat. "Kait, welcome to high school where some of your best and worst memories might happen." Mat said as he walked into the building. "So what do we do now?" Kait asked, jumping up and down. "Well I have to get to my first period but I guess you could just walk around and explore the place since you've never been in a school before." Mat said "Ok, see you later!" Kait said "Be careful!" Mat yelled as Kait ran away "You know to someone that can't see Kait you're talking at nothing right? Plus we are almost late." Rei said "Oh shit!" Mat said as he ran to get to his first period.

"This is all so strange. I've never been somewhere like this before, I can't believe that a few weeks ago I barely knew Mat and now we are dating and now I'm at his school, pretty crazy huh." Kait said to herself continuing to look around, as Kait walked around the school she overheard some gossip from a few girls a little younger than Mat talking about a rumor that Mat has an imaginary girlfriend. "So yeah, rumor has it that this kid named Mat has an imaginary girlfriend and that he can't get any girls." One girl said in a whispering voice. "But I'm not imaginary, I have to tell Mat what's going on." Kait said as the bell rang and she sprinted to find Mat. "Mat!" Kait yelled "Yeah, what's wrong?" Mat asked "There have been rumors going around that you have an imaginary GF and obviously that's not true because I'm here, you're not gonna do something?" Kait said "I might but it's honestly too much work and we have lunch so probably not." Mat said pushing the cafeteria doors open and a blast of whispers emerged from everyone's mouth and people began to stare. "What, he literally just entered and you guys are already talking shit, I recomend that if you dont wanna get your ass's in detention that you shut your mouth's!" Rei said "Dude, I literally said that I didn't want to intervene." Mat said "Just because you don't wanna say something doesn't mean that I'm just gonna stand here while people talk shit about you." Rei said, as the day went on more and more people started to talk about this "news" and eventually Mat snapped, everywhere he was he would hear his name so when the school day was over he stopped and said. "Okay, I'm sick of this honestly I didn't want to do anything but it's getting kinda wack, who even created this rumor?" but nobody responded causing Rei to act as well "WHO THE FUCK STARTED THIS SHIT!" Rei yelled and then a girl said "It was Alex, the one you know." "Sel did this?" Mat questioned? "Does anyone know where he is?" Rei asked, "I think he is in the gym." One guy said "Thank you, sorry about Rei's screaming." Mat said "I'll never be sorry!" Rei said as Mat dragged him by the arm to the gymnasium.

"So I see you've found out the center of all this." Sel said in a black swirling chair as Mat and Rei entered the gym. "Hello Alex, we haven't talked in a while. I can see that it was all just so you could master this plan of yours." Mat said walking slowly and grabbing a dodgeball from the floor "You know I was honestly thinking about not telling everyone in school but after you stole Kait from me and you two became a thing I did not hesitate to say." Sel said "You son of a bitch!" Mat said throwing a dodgeball that got hit by one that Sel had. "I don't know why I trusted you to not go after her after all those goddamn times I told you to leave her alone!" Mat said "You didn't think after all those times I got rejected by other girls, you think that after seeing a cute girl in front of me in my dorm room I wouldn't fall for her!" Sel said "I loved her, I told you after you told her what you said, but yet you still go out and do this!" Mat said tearing up "I'm sorry okay, I was confused I shouldn't have snapped like that." Sel said "Don't say sorry to me, say sorry to her." Mat said moving over revealing that Kait was hiding behind him the whole time and heard everything. "I'm so sorry about your rejections, you honestly are a good person and I don't get why all those people turned you down." Kait said "You don't have to be sorry I did something bad and instead of fixing it I made it even worse by spreading false information, I'm the one who should be sorry." Sel said as Kait gripped him and hugged him "I know you're sorry and I forgive you." Kait said "So what now, people still think that Kait is imaginary." Rei said "I think I have an idea for tomorrow." Sel said as they walked out of the gym and talked about the plan. "So does everybody get the plan?" Sel asked "Yep, I get everyone's attention, Mat says a few words and wishes for the school to see Kait, Kait says hello, and Sel says sorry." Rei said "Okay then let's get to it." Kait said "Hello can I get everyone's attention?" Mat asked standing on top of a picnic table but no one answered him "Get off your goddamn phones and stare up here for just a few minutes!" Rei said as everyone started to stare at Mat. "It has come to my knowledge that a lot of you think that I have an imaginary girlfriend but that is not the case, I do indeed have one but I guess you'll only believe me once you see her, I wish for this whole school to be able to see Kait." Mat said as Kait waved and people turned their vision to her. "She's kinda hot not gonna lie,'' Oneboy said into another boy's ear. "I am so, so sorry for my actions and I know that I shouldn't have done that, it wasn't fair to Mat or Kait or anyone really." Sel said "From here on out you'll be seeing more of Kait as we enroll her into school, yes it might be weird that she is invisible to some and can suddenly appear in places but we want all of you to treat her the same way you would treat anyone else." Rei said "Thank you for listening, you can go back to your phone now." Mat said "You know when I first heard that Mat had a dream GF that came to life from Ruri I thought she was gonna be hotter." Mat's cousin, Steven said to his twin sister Sofiya. "Yeah, very very hot." Sofiya said as Rei jumped off of the table. "Hello? Earth to Sofiya, it's kinda weird that you're crushing on Rei since me and Mat are such good friends with him." Steven said "You're literally crushing on Ruri you got all this information her." Sofiya said "Oh and uh we need to go to Mat's dorm in a few days so that me and Rei can work on a project together." Steven said "Wait what?" Sofiya said as her face turned red and Steven hopped on his skateboard.
