If I Had A Girlfriend

Chapter thirty-one

Kait was now in a world of pitch black, where her senses were deprived, where she couldn't even hear her own breathing, where any emotion fainted, where...she was alone.

She sat in this empty void of darkness as she suddenly stood up and thought to herself "I need to do something" . She started to walk, picked up the pace, and then started running as she yelled the names of her loved ones. "Ruri! Sofiya! Rei! Sel! Steven! Mat!" There was no response but she wouldn't know if there was one either way, for she couldn't even hear her own voice. She continued to run and yell as her hand started to fade and her dress became a dark gray color. She then came to a stop as something was blocking her from running any further. This thing blocking her was the same as everything around her, a black sheet of nothingness but it was a slightly lighter shade. "So this place isn't infinite then, I don't know how long I've been here but atleast I have one last memory with everyone." Kait said as she then sat down on the dark sheet below her feet. She smiled as she recalled her memories with every last one of her friends, as she recalled all the things she had learned while her time on earth, as she recalled all the love, sadness, and anger she had felt during her time with her friends. Kait's left arm was now gone, reduced to nothingness, her chest began to fade and her hair started to turn into a darker shade of blond. "It was fun while it lasted." Kait said as the void of black consumed her, atom by atom.

Two hours had passed and everyone was just shocked but the person that this affected most was Mat. He started to stare at his phone to keep track of time but eventually just started balling his eyes out. "She'll be back." Ruri said. "How the fuck do you know that! It was already established that Kait might not come back if she's in there, she might be already gone for all we know and it's all my fault. It's because of me that Kait is gonna be gone forever, so don't try to reassure me with anything!" Mat yelled. "Dude don't say that." Rei said as Mat then stood up and went to the bathroom.

Mat sat in a bathroom stall, staring off into space. Hao then entered and out of coincidence opened Mat's stall. "The fuck are you in here for? Did your girlfriend turn you down?" Hao said with a smug look on his face. "Fuck off." Mat whispered. "Sorry, did you say something?" Hao responded. "I said fuck off!" Mat yelled, pushing Hao away, Hai just stared at Mat out of pure shock. "K sorry." Hao said as he fixed his hair, Mat then left and sat down into a chair as Keyen took a seat next to him.

"May, are you okay? You look terrible, I mean your clothes are fine, it's just you look sad, is everything okay, where is Kait?" Keyen said. Mat then stared at the floor as he began to talk. "She's not here and I don't think that she's gonna be back, I haven't been the nicest to her and I feel like I've messed up, badly." Mat said. "Oh, I see, you know I've always liked Kait, she seemed so chill all the time and just did stuff to experience it. Even if you weren't the nicest to her I don't think that she would be mad about it, she's always really liked you and she doesn't seem like that kind of person. I bet she's trying to get back to you right now." Keyen said with a bright smile, Mat looked at him and thanked him as he then stood up and headed towards his group of friends.

"What's goody my gang?" Steven said as Mat approached him. "Sorry really bad timing." Steven continued. "Nah your good, although this is the longest time Kait has been in that place I don't think we should mourn for someone that isn't even gone." Mat said. "Right, but yet again we should try to do something to get back to her, any ideas?" Steven asked. "Nope, not right now at least." Mat said, as Juan and Jose (aka the Garcias) approached them. "Yo Steven I'd thought you'd be dancing with Ruri right now, what are you doing bro." Jose said. "You know, you keep saying that I get no bitches but where are yours?" Steven responded as Jose went silent. "You know it does'nt hurt to tell her, I mean the worst that could go wrong is that she turns you down." Mat said. "Exactly, that's why I dont wanna do it, if I tell her and she rejects me I'm gonna become you." Steven said.
