A month has passed from the events of the last chapter

Kait cracks open the door to Mat's room and sees that Rei is asleep on his bed but Mat is still awake and on his phone, Mat lowers his phone and looks at Kait and Kait looks at him back as he sits up and nods. Kait walks over to him and lays beside him on the bed, Kait hugs him tight and Mat is about to hold her hand but remembers what he said on the day of New Years about her needing to spend time with others and date other people. "Kait," Mat says as Kait loosens her grip on him and begins to sit up. "How long are we gonna do this?" Mat asks. "Do what?" Kait replies. "How long are we gonna do this nightly routine where you're gonna come into my room in the middle of the night?" Mat asks. "Is it a problem?" Kait asked kind of annoyed. "No, it's just it kinda makes me uncomfortable and it makes us look like we're dating when we're not." Mat says. "Do we have to be dating for me to want to spend time with you and want to just cuddle?" Kait asks. "No, but I just don't know where we stand in this whole break relationship thing, one day we'll be fine with each other and the next day shit will go down that makes us mad at each other, I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm confused right now, I like you but I want you to date other people, you know?" Mat explains. "Why do you want me to date other people so badly, it makes me feel like you're getting tired of me like it's what you want, but I guess I can give it a shot." Kait said looking down at the bed sheets. "Don't think that way, I'll never get tired of you, everyone needs a little Kait once in a while, there's just so much out there in the world that I want you to experience, and loving people is just one of them." Mat explained as he patted Kait on the head and she looked up at him.

"I should get going to my room then right?" Kait asked. "Yeah, for now at least." Mat said as Kait then suddenly hugged him and let go, walking away.

It is now morning and everyone in the dorm is chilling in the living room. "Since it's the weekend we should do something fun together." Rei suggested. "Yeah, but I don't really want to go anywhere." Sofiya said "That's because you're lazy." Steven said. "I don't know man, I'm kinda with Sofiya on this." Ruri said. "Oh um, okay I guess we could stay here for the day." Steven responded. "Why don't we have a movie day and just binge movies inside." Sel suggested. "Oh, that sounds fun actually." Kait said. "Are things settled then?" Rei asked, looking at everyone. "Yeah I guess, I can go for a starbucks run if you guys want anything." Mat said, pulling out his wallet. "Ooooh can I go with you?" Sofiya asked. "Wait doesn't your brother work at one, maybe we can get him to give us a discount." Ruri said. "Yeah, you guys can join me if you want." Mat explained as Sofiya and him walked out of the dorm and Ruri grabbed Kait to go with them. "I'm not even lying, that's probably the most girls i've seen around Mat." Steven said as the rest of the boys laughed.

The ride to starbucks was rather...awkward to say the least since Mat and Kait were at a weird spot in their relationship and since his cousin who was in the car was dating his best friend and his other cousin was trying to get with this girl who was also in the car it was really hard for any conversation to go on. When they entered the Starbucks the girls took a seat and they all waved to Herman as a worker there attended Mat with the orders, he had black spiky hair, glasses, was quite skinny, and had black nail polish on his fingers. Mat was flustered at the sight of this man and struggled to make the order as the girls talked and Kait occasionally looked over at Mat. They seemed to hit it off and they talked for a while, Kait chose to look away from the two and started doodling on a napkin as she waited for their coffee to be done. When the coffee was done the girls grabbed them and started walking towards the car except for Kait who stayed for a while and saw Mat exchange tiny pieces of paper with the worker and read the tag on their apron, Hao.

Mat then turned around to see Kait but she booked it to the car with tears starting to form under her eyes. When she got to the car she sat down with the food and started breathing heavily as she recalled the piece of paper Sel gave to her with his number on it and the events that followed. "He's not trying to get with that dude Hao right? I mean he wants me to date other people right? He didn't move on from me that quickly right?"
