Days pass of the same cycle, wake up, go for a run, clean, study, read, hang out with Tiff, then it's off to Stu's. We continue with the every other day method as I teach him everything I know about trig and biology. Before I know it, it's already Friday and I'm packing up to head home while he's sitting on his bed reading through notes that we took."Hey...why don't you stay longer? We can order pizza and watch a movie..."
"I can't. Tomorrow my cousin, Sophia is coming to stay. We've spent every summer together since our moms rekindled their relationship..."
"Why did they stop talking to begin with?"
I look at him as sling my bag over my shoulder, a small smile on my face.
"Apparently my Aunt Luisa didn't care to much for my Father...it wasn't until he walked out that my mom even tried to reach out. Sophia is actually two years older than me but she's the closest thing that I have to a sister...Well...I guess besides my actual sister..."
"Wait...you have a sister?"
"Yeah....a twin...actually. She lives with my dad in 'who knows where' land..."
"That sucks...how long has it been since you last talked to her?"
I look at Stu, seeing him staring into my soul as he waits for my answer. I shake my head as I look away, choosing not to answer. I hold my jacket against my chest as I smile at him, having already gathered up everything that is mine.
"See y'a later, Stu....call me if you have anymore questions..."
I turn to leave, walking out of his room as he springs up and follows. I hear him calling my name as I reach the landing above the foyer. I turn with a questioning look on my face as I meet his eyes.
"Wait...do you want to hang out tomorrow night? I can come over to your house..."
"Probably not the best idea...my mom can be a little over barring with who is over when she's not home...and she'll be mad if I invite someone over when family is visiting. I can't even invite Tiffany over and she's my best friend..."
"I understand...see y'a later, my queen..."
I laugh as he bows, bending at the waist as if I am actually a queen. I shake my head before curtsying, holding out my hands as if I am wearing a large ball gown instead of the t-shirt and jeans currently on my body.
"Good day, Dear Sir. It was lovely to make your acquaintance on this fine day..."
He laughs as we make eye contact, matching smiles on both of our faces. I wave before continuing down the stairs, looking back to smile at Stu before I walk out the door.

Later on, I'm in the guest room finishing up the last touches for Sophia. It's just past five and her plane landed 4:15. After nearly falling over twice with all the clean pillows and bedding, I manage to dump it all on the mattress. As I make the bed, I hear a noise coming from next door, where my room is.
I stop, silently moving towards the hall. I see an umbrella hanging up as I pass by the hall closet, where I left it open. I slowly creep over to my door, softly pushing it open as I ready my weapon of convenience. I hear my window slide shut before footsteps make their way towards the door.
I slip into the open closet, silently moving as the intruder moves past. I jump out, hitting them in the head as they fall to the ground, groaning. I go to swing again and again as hands spring into the air.
"Hey! Wait! Wait! It's me!"
"Billy?! What the hell are you doing in my house?!"
"I...uh..."
Right then, the front door opens as we hear voices. I drop the umbrella, looking towards the stairs with my eyes wide. I try to pull Billy off the ground as he groans, rubbing the spot where I hit him with the umbrella.
"Come on! You have to hide! My mom will kill me if I have company over right now..."
I whisper yell as he struggles to get up, looking at me in confusion as I pull him up. I see a bruise forming on his cheek as I haul him towards my room. I push him in before slamming the door, leaving him stunned in my room.
I quickly grab everything and close the closet door. I rush into Sofia's room and fix the blanket before grabbing everything that doesn't belong and quickly putting it away. I hear voices heading my way, two to be exact.
"Christina?!"
I hear my mom yelling as she passes the door, heading for my own. I quickly rush out the room, meeting two figures staring at me in surprise. The younger one smiles, waiting patiently as I brush my hair back.
"Yes?"
"There you are. Is Sophia's room ready?"
"Yeah! I just finished..."
She nods before turning to Sophia, speaking in a soft tone.
"Now. Since it's to late to cook, I'll order something. Any preference? You're the guest."
"Uh...pizza?"
Mom rolls her eyes as she nods, turning to walk away as I smile really big. Sophia meets my smile with one of her own as we simultaneously start to jump and squeal, pulling each other into tight hugs. We spin around before we stop, holding each other at arms length.
"This summer, we're going all out, okay? I mean trips to the mall every weekend, trips to the beach, parties, makeovers, movie nights, anything that you want to do, okay?"
I smile as she speaks, rambling as she shakes me a little. I giggle as she looks me in the eyes, forcing me to stand still as she leans in.
"We are going to have the best summer of our lives. Because we don't know when we will be doing it again. You best be ready, kid, because you're going to have some stories to tell..."
I laugh again as she pulls me in for another hug. She squeezes me as she rubs my back, not letting go as she expresses how she feels. I sigh as I do the same, wanting her to know that I missed her just as much.
"I missed you, kid..."
She mumbles into my hair as she rubs my back. I do the same before pulling away with a smile.
"Me too, Smiles..."
She smiles at me right as we both hear the doorbell ring. She jumps, clapping her hands as she rushes downstairs.
"Oooo! Pizza!"
She rushes off as I sigh, glancing back at my room as I run a hand through my hair. Sophia peeks her head around the corner as she looks at me in excitement.
"Come on!"
I smile as I follow her, glancing back as I walk down the stairs.
