•I Don't Cry In The Daytime•

don't cry in the daytime
I didn't give u
The permission to see my tears
My pain
They are mine to deal with
And not for the pleasure
Of your eyes
Your amusement
The stain that my last tear left
On my left cheek
Gets wiped off
By the sleeve of my sweater
Have to play it off
When people come around
Can't have them asking me
Any questions
Because I am guilty
I am guilty of holding
It all in
And the weight on my shoulders
Gets released as I scream
Through my pillow
To silence my cries
Even when I'm in distress
I hold it in
Unless I'm all alone
But until then
Here my pain shall go
Unnoticed
Not talked about
But needing to be fixed
Cause if not, I'll be
A broken body walking around
carrying a body bag
Of years and years of self isolation
And sabotage
So here I go
Releasing another episode
Of my problems
That only the darkness of my room knows
Because I don't cry
In the daytime
