•Look At Me•
she said "look at u"
the first thing i did was avert my eyes around room
bc i already know what i look like
seen my own face a million times
but....the way she said it
was like, it was unfamiliar to her
her voice was sweet and smooth
just enough to lure me in
i was the silk fabric that she gently pulled from in between her fingers
and gosh, did i love the feeling of it
i didn't know this person at all but in that moment
she made me feel like the most expensive thing in the world
the most beautiful person to ever grace a room
but somehow, the sensation wasn't experienced until that encounter
in that moment
in front of this human being
self love couldn't save me then bc her words already won
those 3 words, cured my depression
made me the happiest in my life
a memory i couldn't recall since 2019
oh, the tears wanted to fall but the wall inside me kept them in
tears of joy and reality
the naive-ness in me was showing quite a lot right now
to have somebody call me magnificently beautiful and here i am
willing to give my heart up to this stranger who just gave me a compliment
i will forever remember those 3 words that she said
coming from her smooth lips, made me question my whole life
"thank u" i replied
if only she knew what she'd done to me
and what i was feeling
over those 3 simple words
