Amaro Black

Why did Ali have to come talk to me when I was still so pissed off? If she would have just given me the time I needed to cool down then I wouldn't have said the things I just said to her. She just never knew when to keep her mouth shut. Now instead of being all pissed off at her like I was five minutes ago, now I'm worried about how upset she is.

This is just crazy and it has to end, we can't keep going on fighting like this. I needed to just sit down and have a long talk about how everything works in the tribe; plus there was still the mating thing that we needed to discuss. It just always seemed like even when we tried to have a normal conversation it would always somehow turn into a fight. Why couldn't it just be easy?

I phased into wolf form and followed Ali's scent into the forest, hoping to catch up with her before she got too far. She had only been gone for about fifteen minutes before I came out so she couldn't have gotten that far. I stuck my nose to the ground and let my wolf take over tracking her.

We had been running for almost an hour and still hadn't caught up to her; we were getting close to the territory edge. I was starting to get nervous, I wondered if she was paying any attention when I showed her the boundary lines. When I reached the boundary line I noticed that her scent just kept on going.

This was not good; she's not protected outside of our territory. I quickly called Harlin and Koda to let them know what was going on; they would head this way in case I needed them for back up. I raced as fast as I could following her scent again; determined to catch up with her before anything happened.

I could smell her scent getting stronger as I was coming up on the edge of a tree line; shit, I hope she didn't go past that. I saw her pure white wolf panting on the ground next to a tree; her fur was matted and full of mud, leaves, and debris. I noticed her look up when she heard a branch break under my paw, she saw it was me and put her head back down.

"Ali we need to get you back to our land," I said when I approached her; she didn't make any move to get up. I nudged her with my nose urging her to stand; she let out a small growl of disapproval.

"Please just leave me alone Amaro," she said; her voice just a whisper.

"Ali if you want to be alone that's fine but I need you back on our land first," I said back trying to be soothing to get her to listen to me.

"If I don't you will just make me do it anyway," she said reluctantly getting up.

"Ali I don't like to give out commands. I only do that when I feel like just asking isn't going to be enough. You have to admit sometimes you can be a little stubborn," I said teasing her trying to distract her from her mood.

"Yeah I guess," she said back; at least it sounded a little more upbeat.

We walked for about an hour; I didn't want to push her wolf by making her run. I knew it would take about two hours to get back walking but it was better than making her even more exhausted than she already was. We reached a small stream and stopped for a drink and a rest.

"I really am sorry Amaro," Ali said catching me off guard when she walked up behind me in human form while I was getting a drink. I phased back into human form before answering her.

"I know Ali, it's ok," I said as I pulled her into a hug.

Her arms wrapped around me pulling me in closer to her; I tightened my grip around her waist, wishing there was a way to get closer. I could never get enough of having her in my arms; she was my mate, she was mine. My wolf stirred in me wanting me to claim her, I quickly pushed him back knowing it wasn't the time.

"Ali there's something that we need to talk about," I admitted as I walked her over to sit on the ground against a tree.

"What is it?" She asked snuggling her body closer to mine so that her head was resting on my chest.

"Well do you want to know what your wolf means when she called me mate?" I asked not really knowing how I was going to explain this; I was also nervous about how she would react. Feeling her wrapped in my arms with her body so close to mine I almost wasn't willing to risk telling her in fear she might move away from me.

"Yeah, I have been meaning to ask you about that," she responded sounding curious.

"Ok, but do you promise not to freak out?" I asked cupping her chin in my hand and bringing her face up to meet mine.

"I promise," she said then I closed the gap and locked my lips with hers; might as will kiss her now in case she freaks out and I don't have the chance to do it later.

"Have you ever heard of a soul mate?" I asked.

"Like the person that is supposed to be made for you in every way, and you fall in love, and live happily ever after, like fairytale stuff?" She asked.

"Well yeah it's kind of like that, but maybe without the happily ever after part; sometimes, but not always," I said trying to do my best to compare the two.

"So you are saying that we were meant to be together?" She asked turning to look at me.

"Yes," I said, holding my breath for her reaction.

Her mouth dropped open a little and she looked like she was going to say something a few times before her lips unexpectedly crashed onto mine. After I got over the shook of what she did I fell into the kiss with her. Her body moved to straddle mine and she pushed me back on the tree. My wolf jumped at the attention and I grabbed her waist and changed our position so she was flat on the ground with my body over hers.

I kissed her neck and she dug her hands into my back begging me to touch more of her. My hands explored her body and she returned the favor; my wolf was purring with excitement inside of me. She is ours, she is our mate; he kept repeating over and over. I pulled away from our make out session breathlessly when my wolf was pushing me to claim her; it wasn't time for that yet. We phased back to wolf form and we ran back to her house, now that we were a little rested running came easy to us; it only took us about thirty minutes to get back to her house.

"Are you going to try school tomorrow?" I asked when we were on the front porch.

"I don't know if I should," she said nervously.

"Ali you will be ok, I will be there for you if you need me. We can leave at any time if you don't feel in control," I said trying to convince her to just go; it was better if she just tried to go back to acting normal in front of people.

"Ok, I will try," she said finally giving in.

"Good," I replied as I placed another soft kiss to her lips. "I should go its late."

"You're not going to stay?" She asked; I almost couldn't resist her offer, but at the same time I didn't think I could control myself in the same bed as her.

"As much as I would enjoy that, it's not a good idea. I have a hard time controlling myself and my wolf, around you," I said back moving a piece of stray hair behind her ear.

"Oh," she said blushing a little; I loved it when she blushed like that.

"Goodnight Ali, sweet dreams," I said as I pulled her into a tight hug and kissed the top of her head.

"Goodnight and sweet dreams Amaro," she said back into my chest. We pulled apart and I watched her walk in the door before turning back to the forest and heading home.
