Amaro Black

I don't know what was going through my mind as I wandered through the woods. I couldn't sleep after the incident in the woods today; although that felt like what my body wanted. I just couldn't keep thoughts of Ali out of my mind. Most of those thoughts were of the way that she acted towards me that just made me even more angry than I already was; others were thoughts about if she was alright after her fall.

I couldn't figure out why I would even care. I didn't like the girl; I couldn't wait for the day that I didn't have to watch out for her anymore. Why would I care if she was ok or not? I came back to reality when I noticed my feet were walking on grass now, not the rough ground of the forest. I looked up, shit, how did end up at her house? I went to turn around when I seen Mr. Staton wave at me from the kitchen window. Damn, I was caught; I needed an excuse and fast.

"Hey Amaro, it's nice to see you again," he greeted when he opened the door; he gestured for me to come in.

"Hello Mr. Staton," I said still trying to figure out a reason that I would be there. "I just wanted to see how Ali was doing, she hit her head earlier," I decided to just go with the truth as I followed him into the kitchen.

Mr. Staton was about to speak again when we heard the footsteps on the stairs and Ali appeared from around the corner. There was a look of surprise on her face quickly replaced with anger as she looked away from us both.

"Amaro came over to see if you were alright after your fall," Mr. Staton said from beside me.

"He probably came over to tell on me for going into the woods and used my injury as an excuse," she said not bothering to look at either of us as she walked toward a cabinet and grabbed some pills.

"Ali please don't be rude." I could hear her father getting upset about her crude response.

"Well what would you like me to say then dad?" She asked, seemingly irritated.

"How about, thank you," I suggested. If she was going to be rude I could play that game too. I watched her pop the pills in her mouth and washed them down with a sip of water.

"Thank you so much my dear Amaro for worrying about me. What ever would I do without you?" She responded; using what I assume was her best theatrical voice; she really should work on that.

"No problem princess," I responded smugly. "See you later Mr. Staton." I waved to her father and walked out the door. I can't believe that I went there to see how she was doing and that's the way that she treated me. She was a little princess; a little bitch princess.

Aliyah Staton

My mind was going a million miles a minute as I walked back into the house. I sat at the kitchen table across from my father who was reading some genealogy book.

"Dad we have a serious wolf problem!" I said still trying to make sense of what just happened outside.

"Wolf problem?" My dad asked looking over his book at me.

"Yeah, wolf problem! Like the wolves that are outside!" I said my temper started flaring. He took a glance outside then returned to reading his book.

"I don't see any wolves out there," he said, shrugging his shoulders.

"No not right now because they just ran back into the woods, but they were just out there starring me down like I was next meal!" I said standing up from my seat; I couldn't believe that he wasn't even the slightest bit concerned.
