It was another trying day in the cafeteria. Sprinklekit and I would always look after the place and serve delicious meals to gootraxians, taking breaks when we felt the need to. I've always felt something was off with this place though, with me. Even though there was rays of food aligned in front of me 24/7 I still felt the need to eat something more instead of these rubbish human foods.
"Hey Mochi! Wake up dude!" I snapped out of my daze at the sound of the voice, looking down to Sprinklekit that stood beside me. I lifted up my arm and brushed a paw down the other as sweat ran down my forehead.
"Was I staring at you again? I'm sorry." I mumbled as they looked at me with a confused and yet concerned glances, holding their arms crossed promptly.
"This time you were staring at the wall." They said. I felt my self become hot, burring my face into my paws, clearly embarrassed. I heard them let out a long sigh before placing a paw onto my shoulder.
"You don't have to get all flustered, I just came to ask if you wanted somethin to eat." They gestured as I looked back at them. I realized that I had my overly sized wings around the both of us, keeping us in a tight area, out fur brushing onto each others.
"I'm... Not hungry." I stutter as I shift away from them. They proceeded to pull their paw off of my shoulder and fold their arms again, looking towards me with a sharp glare and this nasty frown.
"Are you good?-"
"You haven't eaten all day and that's the 4th time your saying that!" They exclaimed, I hadn't even realized my ignorance toward my own health. It seems that my thoughts were already feeding me enough because I really DIDN'T feel hungry, I haven't since this morning.
"I'm sorry, Sprinkle. But I really don't feel like eating anything as of now." I said with a soft tone as of not to piss them off. They'd always get heated if somebody were to argue back to them. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by yet another long, dramatic sigh made by Sprinklekit.
"Fine. But your missing out! My cooking is the best around!" They announced as they left my side to go sit at the tables with some other goos.
'I'm sure it is.' I thought to my self as I made my way out of the cafeteria. Everyone sitting and enjoying their petty human food made me gag. I needed something REAL to eat.
I continued my way to the slime hound room and down the hall where the human shields was. I light pink barrier that had trippy patterns imprinted in it in order to lure gootraxians towards it, to admire it. It was heavily transparent to the point where we could see everything inside. But most of all, it was designed to keep humans in, and gootrax out. I wasn't exactly sure what it did when underestimated but I wasn't up to try and find out. I looked it up and down while holding my arms and wings close to me, making sure it hadn't swayed to close to the barrier. I squinted my eyes and looked inside of the shield to see just 2 humans talking and laughing with each other as they held a few things in their hands, one of them oddly being raw meat, bloody and all. I suddenly felt tempted to leap into the barrier area and take it from their hands as they dangled it from their fingers. Bloody hell... All of a sudden one of the humans made complete eye contact with me. They didn't look scared, rather interested, in ME. The sudden pause of one of the humans triggered the other to look my way as well. In only a matter of seconds I had two pairs of eyes on me, I didn't bother to run though, I was more invested in that blood and flesh swinging from one of their hands. I fell to my knees as they continued to stare, feeling anxious at their peering judgement and yet yearning for the scrap of meat I could call food. Just as I felt completely helpless, one of the humans approached me and started digging into their bag that rested on their shoulder and dangled down to their waist with one hand. Probably reaching for a weapon, but I just couldn't worry about that now as I continued to stare at the human still looking awkward as they stood in the shield area.
"Hey!" I heard a voice. I looked slightly down to see the human approaching me before kneeling down to my level as I sat down on my knees. But the thing that caught my notice the most, was a similar looking piece of meat to the one the other had sitting right in front of me, waiting to be devoured.
"You seem pretty invested in goo meat." They spoke up to end the silence that was enduring us. GOO MEAT?! I felt my limbs shaking as I lifted my wings around my body and threatened to hide my face within them. Despite me being in full power against the unarmed human, I still felt vulnerable against them.
"Ah don't be afraid. Just take a bite! I'm sure you'll love it!" They insisted on me taking the meat from their hand as they lifted it to my muzzle. I froze, my eyes wide as I took a big sniff of it. Possibly contemplating just what I was about to do. I slowly lowered my wings and leaned forward to take a small bite of it, widening my mouth only slightly to take the tiniest chunk out of it literally ever. I chewed it slowly yet quickly as I was desperate to know it's taste. The human only smirked as they watched me eat. My eyes shot wide open at the taste of absolute delicacy touched my tongue. I instantly snatched the rest of it out of their hands and began tearing into it, the human looked at me shocked before continuing to smile at my behavior.
"I'm not surprised you liked that. I'm sure anyone would." They started. I was only focused on my only source of food that sat in front of me. I wanted to take it in slowly but the taste was just to much to sit and wait for.
"Dude! Do you realize what you've done! That could turn into a cannibal!" The human within the barrier suddenly began scolding the other.
"Shouldn't that be a good thing? This thing could help us." I couldn't bother listening in anymore until I realized my remaining rations had gone. Turned into a mess of blood and the smallest of strings on the ground, I felt nothing but relived as blood dripped down my chin and into a small puddle of it. I forced my head down to ground level and began licking the contents.
"Told you it wouldn't be bad." I felt the urge to slug the man in the face, or now portrayed as 'Dude'.
"I know where you can find even more." They continued. My head shot up to look at them as I was fully invested in what they had to say. I NEEDED more food. I didn't realize it until I had begun feasting, but I was far from finished with my meal. The human smirked and placed a hand under my chin, stroking it.
"I got this from one of your little goo pals." They explained. I didn't find much shock into that statement as they had pointed it out before.
"I'm pretty sure you know what you have to do now if it isn't obvious." They moved their hand up to my head and began patting it slowly as I felt my self grow tired. I slowly nod my head, they gave it a few more scratches before pulling their hand away and stepping back into the shields. Their friend looked worried but I couldn't be bothered to wait here much longer, it was beginning to grow late. I slowly stood up and made my way back to the cafe.
