36(Real this time I swear)

Several months earlier.

The blackout was an event of which people and gootrax alike were prone to hiding away from, patiently waiting it out before continuing to thrive as they would after it passed. The facility became a world filled with dangers as the pitch of night did on the surface. Those who lurked the dark could hardly be contained, all they knew was the pain and suffering of their victims in their final moments, the taste of their blood. It was often quite until they found a target, or many, which was the unfortunate situation a particular gootraxian found themselves in.

Panther flexed their claws as they gazed upon a flock of humans, intruding humans, disturbing the peace of the crystal cove they considered their territory.

Sure, there were 2 others that were present depending on the event, those two being Kaiju and Carneline. They often fought, a lot, Panther being the one to instigate the majority of them. If it wasn't obvious then it definitely was now. The feline hated sharing. They hated sharing their territory, their prey, their event. They wouldn't consider it to be greed but only because they were sure it all belonged to them already, it was just stolen. It was like they were the only sane one. They could swear everyone else thought they were frolicking in a flower field with how innocent and oblivious they were. They insisted on the three of them sharing, especially Kaiju who alone could easily overpower them enough to the point they were the most reliable problem solver in the facility. The amount of pure muscle they have is enough to make up for the lack of size that is their brain, they were stupid as hell.

Well, everyone was stupid as hell, especially Feizao.

Speaking of which, had just let out the most ear-grating shriek after being hit square in the face by a self customized brick, hideous it was. Panther wanted to laugh, to fall back on the large crystal they were perched on and lose their mind right then and there, maybe even shed a few tears. They had to admit though, the commotion coming from the gathered group was disturbing the peace that once was. Their grin was merely a façade of the rage they were desperately trying to keep at bay. They decided against raking their claws through the glowing white crystal beneath, why ruin such a beautiful and valuable thing when there was a mound of flesh and bone to bite through just ahead? They just hoped that foolish gootraxian would die before they arrived to their "aid".

With an audible snarl they jumped from the crystal, sprinting in the direction of the humans that had now gathered around Feizao now writhing on the ground and holding their paws to their face, it was slowly fading into a hue of red where they'd been hit. The felines claws dug into the earth below, ever so slightly propelling them forward when ripped away. Their nostrils were invaded with the usual human stench, giving them a small throwback to when it'd have them barreling in the opposite direction and violently shaking their head, being laughed at and ridiculed when witnessed doing so. It only fueled their rage, making them hang their mouth to practically embrace that and the small smell of blood.

It was only when they were lunging towards the figure of one holding a scythe their presence was loudly announced by another, the group erupting into screams and shrills of panic as their long claws sliced through the scythe wielders back. The chaos that quickly became was exhilarating to Panther, their crazed grin only widening as they ripped their claws from the trembling humans back, the slight struggle that came along with it made them chuckle eerily.

The human dropped onto their stomach along with their weapon, sputtering and choking, barely alive which was no shocker to Panther. Their claws were long, they sometimes daydreamed about them being the same length as the swords humans often wandered and fought with despite them doing more permanent damage then a flimsy katana ever could. They could cut through bone just as efficiently as Lanternshorks teeth could.
