I still can't believe I'm writing these words. The grief and shock from yesterday's events still run deep. I know we have readers here from all over the world, but still I think it is right to take this moment. I send my deepest condolences to the royal family and wish them much strength for this difficult time.

You don't have to be British, you don't have to be a supporter of the monarchy, you may even be a critic of the monarchy or you are not interested in politics. But from wherever you are, whatever you believe, whatever your convictions are, Her Majesty will be missed. A world without her is a new one, an uncertain one, a frightening one.I grew up watching Prime Minister after Prime Minister move into Downing Street while Her Majesty sat on the throne and drove the ship. She was the one constant in hard times and good, the one who united the nation.

She lived a long, full life at the age of 96 and yet her death comes as a shock to the entire nation, royalists and non-monarchists alike. I have the greatest respect for the way she led her country, with how much devotion, sense of duty, passion, dedication and love she took on her great, heavy burden. She sat on the throne longer than anyone before her. I don't know it any other way, I was born with her as queen and even though she was of such an advanced age, her death was surreal to me, always far away.

A new era is dawning and it remains for us to say goodbye.

Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, born 21 April 1926, died 08 September 2022, ascended the throne in 1952 and reigned for 70 years. I pay tribute, I express my respect and thank Her Majesty the queen with all my heart for a life full of duty and service to the country.

The Queen is dead, long live the King.

Out of respect, there will be no update today or in the next few days. I hope for your understanding.
