After that night they had spent together, the next couple of days went by normally.
However, and as predicted, Jimin's heat came in that same week... Precisely two days after he started taking the suppressants again.
Knowing that it could happen at any hour of the day, Jungkook always made sure to keep his mobile phone nearby, waiting for Jimin's call, with a plausible excuse to leave the office as soon as he could. Despite being in a high position inside of the company, he didn't use it as a privilege for skipping his duties and give himself a bad image to the other co-workers.
Jungkook was in the middle of a meeting when he got Jimin's phone call. Jimin always knew Jungkook's schedule for each day of the week as if it was his own, and he always avoided talking to Jungkook during meetings.
When the phone rang, the young man knew exactly what that call was about, and he got his suspicions confirmed the moment he simply heard Jimin on the other side of the line saying:
"K-Kook, it's starting."
The words came out almost as a whisper, since he looked breathless already. It was only a matter of time before he started feeling the same unbearable agony typical from a heat.
Jungkook really wanted to tell him something that would make him rest assured until he got there. He wanted to tell Jimin to get comfortable and drink enough water before the heat completely took over him... He wanted to tell him that everything was going to be alright and that he was going to help him through it...
But he couldn't say any of that when he was surrounded by so many people in the middle of a meeting...
"Thank you for your call," he simply said, "I'll be right there."
He hung up right after, excusing himself as he lied about having a relative being in the hospital that needed his assistance quickly, making his leave from the meeting room not long after.
Back to Jimin's office, the same that has belonged to him for a good while by now but still wasn't his, Jungkook grabbed the essentials and finally left the office.
Since it was right past lunchtime, the traffic jam was in his favor, so he took a taxi instead of the subway to get to his place as fast as he could.
Jungkook would be lying if he said that he wasn't nervous about it, and that fact didn't come unnoticed to the taxi driver who occasionally took a glimpse of the fidgeting young man in the back seat.
Jungkook couldn't find a comfortable resting position, as he was stressing out about every scenario his mind was conceiving.
He had witnessed how Jimin acted during and after a heat, but he wasn't so sure about how he would react himself. He had had some rut episodes throughout his life, but these had always been very punctual and they were never because of an Omega until he met Jimin. He remembered how painful it was not being able to touch each other and how much it affected them, though that was all he knew...
When he finally made it to Jimin's home and rushed to open the entrance door, he was greeted by a similar sensation as the last time he was present when Jimin was going through a heat.
He immediately smelled Jimin's sweet scent as soon as he stepped into the house, getting affected by it almost instantly, as his blood pressure increased, and as he swallowed hard.
He took his suit jacket off, dropping it somewhere on the floor of the living room on his way to the bedroom.
He could hear Jimin whining the closer he got there, the sounds being muffled by the closed door and thick walls, together with the bumping noise of his own heart inside his ears.
