Two years later...

"Pa-! Appa!"

"Yes, sweetie, appa is here!," Jimin enthusiastically exclaimed.

He was just finishing tying their pup's shoes up when Jungkook had just arrived from a short trip to the closest convenience store.

Dropping the bags at the entrance, the younger man quickly took his own shoes off and dashed to the couch where the little girl was patiently sitting as Jimin was working on her shoes.

He put his hands under her arms and held her up in the air, making a funny sound.

"Kook, her other shoe isn't tied up yet!," Jimin warned, as the little girl's laughter filled the room.

Despite that, Jimin couldn't help himself but smile from ear to ear right after, amused by the other two.

"Oh, you're right," Jungkook said as he noticed the shoelace hanging from one of her feet.

Jimin moved to put the things Jungkook had bought in their place in the kitchen as the Alpha moved to sit the girl back on the couch, crouching down in front of her to finish tying up her shoe.

She looked very attentively at what Jungkook was doing as he finished his job.

"Do you know who we are seeing today, angel?," she looked back at Jungkook with her curious eyes wide open before he continued, "uncle Jin!"

She clapped her hands and smiled as she recognized the name and Jimin, who had been hearing them from the kitchen, chuckled as he got closer.

"It's a beautiful day today, we could go for a walk by the river before we meet up with Jin hyung."

She babbled something and stretched her arms as Jimin picked her up. She gave him a smile and used her hand to try touching his hair. That made Jimin lean slightly into her touch, letting her playfully grab a lock of his hair for no apparent reason, letting go after, giggling. She then wrapped her little arms around his neck as Jungkook got the baby stroller ready at the entrance.

"The river is a good idea, the fresh air will feel nice," Jungkook finally answered.

They got everything ready and finally left.

Their mornings have always been especially busy since the arrival of the pup.

It has surely been a crazy journey since that fateful night at the hospital before Jungkook woke up.

Despite having recognized Jimin the moment he laid his eyes on him, he wasn't sure about what had happened after he woke up. It took him a moment to be able to fully come to himself and put his thoughts and memories together. Jimin stayed with him and talked to him the whole time which helped him progress faster. He felt so relieved for Jungkook to be back that there were a couple of times in which he would find himself with tears in the corner of his eyes for no specific reason except pure happiness.

Maybe it was a far-fetched idea, but Seokjin commented that he believed that Jungkook had been able to wake up due to Jimin's scent the night he arrived there. It could have been just a coincidence, or it could have been the fact that his bonded mate was there right next to him that made Jungkook react and recover. There was no way to confirm this though, but would that been the case, they would have found a way for Jimin to get to the hospital sooner.

Jungkook stayed at the hospital a couple more weeks to make sure he would make a good recovery and Jimin accompanied him the whole time, the best way he could. He did some rehabilitation work to strengthen his muscles while he was still recovering from his broken bones. He had no brain damage or other permanent injuries, and since he was healthy and really strong-willed, his recovery happened faster.
