Thanos

"Foolish Asgardian. He couldn't even follow one simple command. I must find that woman. She could be a problem for us." Ebony entered my chambers.

"Father, I come with news of the woman." I stood up, "what have you learned?"

He smiled.

"The woman was raised on Asgard. She was the last of her kind. Her parents died as a child, now most of Asgard considers her a danger to them because she is a Changeling." A Changeling?

In all my years of living I had never once seen a Changeling. I had heard of them, but believed they were simply a myth.

"What are they known for, and why do I not know of them?" Ebony smiled.

"She is the last of her kind. I believe her race is to blame for being hidden from you, father. She can fit in among any race all she needs is a drop of their blood." She would be a problem.

"I will not concern myself with her yet. For now let's focus on the foolish Asgardian." I will find her eventually, she will be the one to die by my hand.

Nyx

I was still in my armor and still injured. We were at a table in the command center of the helicarrier. Steve, Tony, Thor, and Natasha were sitting at the table. Natasha was able to save Clint from Loki's control, but I couldn't think about that now. I was worried. We didn't have long to wait before Fury walked into the command center. He threw something down on the table. I froze. The cards he had been so happy about.

"Phil is dead. He would've wanted you all to work together." I couldn't hear anything after that.

I couldn't see anything either. It felt like someone had ripped my heart out of my chest. It felt hard to breathe. I reached forward and picked up the cards. I grit my teeth.

"Phil died believing in all of you. Now it's time you prove that his belief in all of you wasn't a waste." I held the cards to my chest.

He's gone. I lost him, the only person who trusted me on this stupid planet besides Clint. I will make Thanos pay.

"Nyx," I looked up at Thor, "are you alright?"

I looked away. My vision became blurry. I took a deep breath.

"No, I'm not. However, I have no choice. I have to be okay. Right now, our concern is Loki." I walked away with the cards.

My vision got blurry as I left the command center. After a while I stopped in a hallway and leaned against the wall. I fell to the floor. I cried out in pain. I held his cards tight against my chest. It felt like losing my mother and father all over again. Only this time I didn't have Loki, I had no one to lean on.

"Dammit, why?" He was dead and it was my fault.

If I had stopped Loki on Asgard, Phil wouldn't be dead. This is my fault.

"Kid?" I looked up.

Clint was in front of me. I looked down and shook my head. I couldn't stop crying. I couldn't speak. It felt like my whole world was crashing down around me. I felt his arms wrap around me and he pressed my face against his chest.

"I'm here, Nyx. Just let it out." I screamed against his chest.

Clint

I was suiting up when I heard a cry from down the hall. I poked my head out of my room. It was Nyx. She was gasping and sobbing. I walked up to her.

"Kid?" When she looked up at me I was upset.

She looked so broken, so defeated. I had never seen her this way. She looked away from me and shook her head. I couldn't stand hearing her cries. She was in so much pain. I knelt down and wrapped my arms around her.

"I'm here, Nyx. Just let it out." She screamed against my chest.

The heartbreak in her scream scared me. I had never seen Nyx cry like this before. She had always been headstrong, and ready to serve. Even when things got hard.

"Nyx?" I looked up.

I saw someone in a gear similar to Nyx's. I tightened my arms around her.

"Who are you?" He knelt down.

"I am Thor. Is she alright?" I scoffed.

"Does she look alright to you?" Thor looked guilty.

"No," Thor went to place a hand on Nyx's shoulder, a purple shield surrounded us, "clearly she doesn't want you right now. I don't know what your people did to her, but she didn't deserve it."

Nyx's cries had quieted, but her body still shook. Thor looked torn. He stood up and the barrier disappeared.

"I'm sorry Nyx. I'll be here if you need me." He walked away.

Nyx

Thor was walking away. I had finally calmed down. I wasn't sobbing, but the tears still freely fell. I didn't hate Thor, but it was his and Loki's fault I couldn't go home.

"Nyx," I looked up at Clint, "we can honor Phil after we are done with this war. For now, we need to protect the people. Can you do that, kid?"

My vision began to blur. I had to suck it up. I still had a mission to complete, for my Dad.

"I can, old man. Loki must be stopped. For Phil," I clenched my jaw, "Loki will pay."

Be ready Thanos. You will pay for what you've done.

Loki

One moment I was next to Nyx, the next I was freefalling above the ocean. I saw the ship above me and then I saw Thor holding me off the Bifrost. I started having trouble breathing. Then I heard a scream. It wasn't out loud it was in my head. I found myself back on the ship with Nyx in a man's arms. She was crying. Her sobs sounded broken. She was broken. I had heard her cry before, but this was different. This sounded hopeless. I knelt down next to them.

This is all my fault. If I had never done the things I did then she wouldn't be hurting this bad.

I was back in my body and falling. I couldn't get the image of Nyx out of my head.

Asgardian! Do not fail me!

I flinched. I saw the jet my people were on and transported onto it.

"Let's go now." I'm sorry Nyx. I hope someday you can forgive me.

Banner

I sat up quickly. There was rubble around me. I looked up. The sky was showing through the roof.

"Oh man," I sighed in frustration, "hello, sir?"

I covered myself and turned my head. There was a man who had clothes in hand.

"You fell from the sky. Are you an alien or somethin?" I chuckled.

"Or something." The man tossed me a pair of pants.

"You might want to get dressed young man." I chuckled.

I stood and quickly put the pants on.

Bruce?

I froze. I looked around. I shook my head and put the shirt on.

Bruce, it's Nyx.

I gasped in surprise.

I know where you are. We are headed to Stark's Tower in New York. Need a lift?

"Yes." Nyx appeared next to me.

"We need to go. We will meet everyone in New York." She clenched her jaw.

She looked sad.

Girl sad. Banner hug.

My body was moving and I hugged her. I felt her body tense. She took a deep breath.

"Come on, Bruce. We have to go." Her voice cracked.

I pulled away and looked down at her. She was looking down at the ground.

"What happened, Nyx," she looked at me, "Phil is dead. Now we need to leave."

She wrapped her arm around me, "hold tight Bruce."

Nyx waved at the security guard. We were gone.
