Nyx

After returning from Asgard I was angry. So angry I exploded on Fury. Did I get into trouble? No. Once I calmed down I explained what had happened. Then we discussed an escape plan. I felt it was necessary. I'm just glad Fury listened.

It's  been three months since I had any contact with Asgard. I was mad at Thor. He didn't listen to me. I know I was simply his brother's guard, but I risked everything for him. He repays me by ignoring my warnings. If he was going to be that way, fine. I wouldn't be so kind about warning him about impending danger again. I was happy here on Earth anyway. Hawkeye and I have become super close. We always tease each other. He's shown me some things about archery, and I've shown him some as well. I would do anything for him and he for me. It was like we were brother and sister. He had left a few times on a side mission while I watched the Tesseract. Most of the time it was quiet, however there were still days when I heard Loki. Luckily today wasn't one of those days. It was early in the morning when I felt a surge around the Tesseract. I stepped forward towards it. I felt the energy surge again. It was small and wouldn't be detected by Dr. Selvig's technology. I pulled out my cell and called Fury.

"Hello," he didn't sound awake, "Sir, it's Agent Rogue. We have a problem."

I heard shuffling.

"Go ahead Agent Rogue." I turned to the Tesseract.

"The Tesseract is acting up sir. The energy it's giving off right now is faint, but it won't be long till it's unstable sir. Evacuation protocol Tessa needs to be activated, sir." I heard a grunt.

"Are you positive, Agent Rogue?" I frowned.

"I'm positive. Right now it's stable, but it won't be for long. The energy pulses are fine for now however I don't know how long it will be that way." He sighed.

"Very well, Rogue. Activate Protocol Tessa," I sighed in relief.

He trusted me a little more than he used to. That was a relief.

"Yes sir." I hung up the phone.

I pulled out the walkie-talkie.

"This is Rogue, we are activating Protocol Tessa. Protocol Tessa is in full effect. Get a move on people and clear out, now!" I turned the walkie off.

It wasn't long before people began bustling around us evacuating. I went to my room and packed up everything and got into my armor. I modified it to look more like Earth, but I kept most of the Asgardian design. I stepped out of my room with the one bag I had.

"Rogue," I looked up to see Clint and Phil, "Hello, Hawkeye, D-Phil. It's a pleasure to see you again."

I hugged Phil, "Hi, Dad."

He chuckled. I was lucky to have him. He reminded me of my father.

"It's nice to see you too, Nyx." I stayed a bit longer in the hug then I should've.

I was worried. With every passing moment I could feel the Tesseract building with power. I knew who was on the other side. I feared what would be waiting. What trouble Loki would bring with him. I finally pulled away. I was relieved that my face was covered.

"Sorry Agent Coulson." He shook his head.

"Is the threat serious?" I glanced down at the ground.

"I'm afraid so. I did not know what his plans are, but Loki is opening a gateway from the other side of the Tesseract. We must be on guard. You should probably leave. I do not know how long we have before the gateway is opened. It's not safe though." I smiled at Clint.

"I will stay until Fury arrives." Phil said.

"I'm staying here, kid. You can't get rid of me that easily." I simply smiled at Clint.

I had a bad feeling. I wouldn't let Clint know, but I feared today would turn out worse than I ever imagined it would.
