Loki

I stabbed the man in the eye with the scanner. I  enjoyed hearing his screams. I released him once he quit squirming. I smiled at the chaos I was creating. Then I saw Nyx again. I frowned. She was faded and in front of me.

"Loki, please? Stop this." I shook my head.

"You're not real." I started walking by her.

"What if I am Loki? What if the woman who told you I was dead was lying?" I spun around.

"No one can lie to me. I am the god of lies. Learn your place." She looked angry.

"No longer can you tell me what to do. I am simply a figment of your imagination. You are failing, Loki. You will not win this fight Loki. You will lose because you are letting that monster control you. Let me help." I frowned at her.

I slammed the staff on the ground and my illusion vanished. I was in my Asgardian armor. She was gone and I had to except that.

"Just leave me alone, liar." I started walking out towards the crowd of screaming mortals.

Arms wrapped around me from behind. I stopped moving. The warmth from her body felt so real. I just wanted to turn around and hold her.

"Please Loki. I can't lose you as well. I can help you, please Lo, please?" Her arms tightened around my midsection.

The heartbreak in her voice tore at my heart. I could feel her face against my back. She was the only other woman besides my mother I ever really cared about. The only woman I loved.

Do not forget what will happen should you fail.

"Get off me you mewling quim." I flung her off of me.

I never heard her hit anything. I stormed out and created copies of myself to keep the terrified people in front of me. They needed to know who would soon rule over them.

Stay on track, Loki. Your life depends on it.

"Kneel!" I didn't know that Nyx had been telling the truth or that she lied to me.

Nyx

I gasped as we were almost there. I had just astral projected to Loki. As we were speaking I listened to his thoughts. I heard a voice. One that wasn't Loki's. I was relieved Loki hadn't realized I was listening to his thoughts. When the voice made itself known, it scared me. It proved my theory was correct. He was being threatened. I needed more proof. Physical proof or else Fury and Thor wouldn't believe me.

"Are you alright?" Steve Rogers was in his suit.

I wasn't. I was far from okay and didn't answer his question. I stood and summoned my mothers bow.

"How did you do that?" I glanced at Steve.

"I am a Changeling. My kind has magic. This is my mother's bow. She was Asgardian. It's all I have left of her. She is the one who taught me everything I know about magic," that was a lie, "however she died when I was young."

I stepped closer to the rear of the jet. This wasn't a conversation I wanted to have at all.

"I'm sorry, ma'am," I sighed, "don't call me ma'am. We went through this earlier. I'm not your superior, I'm your friend. I've come to terms with her death a long time ago. I had a great friend to help me with her and my fathers death."

I will not bow to you. We have men like you, we don't need more.

That wasn't Loki's voice. It was a very loud thought. It was a man's voice and Loki would kill the man for what he said.

"Cap! Go! Loki's about to shoot a civ." He jumped out.

I followed after. I had to. I landed on the ground. I didn't focus on Loki. My concerns were the people.

"Come on everyone! Let's move! Go! I'll keep you safe during evacuation. Go!" I started ushering people past the illusions which vanished a second later.

I saw a woman trip as her heel broke. I transported myself behind her. I wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Come on ma'am, you're okay." We were transported to a bench across the way.

Loud music began to play. I saw Stark. From what I've read in his file that was a classic Stark thing to do.

"About time," the woman sighed once she was sitting, "are you alright ma'am?"

She smiled up at me.

"I'm alright, thank you for me," she frowned, "what do I call you?"

I smiled and took her hand in mine. Did I need to do this? No, but it's better to start giving the people of Earth an image of someone who cares if we are to fulfill Phil's dream.

"I am known as Rogue, M'Lady," I kissed her hand, "be safe M'Lady. I must leave."

I turned away and my smile fell. I hated doing that. That was a Thor thing. Rogers had Loki. Stark had the staff. I glared at Loki. I gripped his other arm and led him to the jet with Rogers on the other side. I was angry, sad, and hurt. I saw a glow of blue. I glanced at Stark. Then at the staff, then back towards the jet as we stepped forward.

It glowed brighter as I acknowledged my feelings. Rogers and I slammed Loki down in his seat. I strapped him in. He glanced up at me. His eyes widened in surprise.

She's alive?

I tilted my head. The door to the jet closed and I stood up. I turned away but I kept an ear out for Loki's thoughts.

I thought she was dead. How is she alive? There is no way that mortal was able to lie to me? How is she-

Focus Asgardian.

It was the voice again. It was a male voice. At least we sort of know who we are dealing with. I'll know more once I look at the scepter. I turned to Loki as we took off. He didn't fight. He hadn't made a single move to get away, this was too easy. Catching him was too easy. I would keep my guard up no matter what.
