Flashback

Eight Months Ago

Loki

After falling into the wormhole it was hard to distinguish time. I kept my thinking of Nyx. Sometimes for moments, sometimes for hours. Her face was burned into my memory. Most of the time I had no idea where I was or where I would end up. I spent what felt like ages in nothingness. Until one day a being found me floating in the nothingness. Little did I know that he would put me through months of torture. He would give me what I wanted, but I would lose myself to fear. Nyx would be the only thing that gave me hope. I would protect her from him at any cost.

Thanos

"Bring him in, he has information that will be useful. He has knowledge of something I may need." Ebony activated the beam to bring the Asgardian aboard our ship.

"What will you do to him?" I smiled at Gamora.

"Break him the best way I know how. He is not the kind to kneel willingly. I will enjoy this." I turned as Ebony brought the Asgardian Prince aboard.

Gamora

I am done. I cannot stay here any longer. The Asgardian is a boy. I would save him if I could. However, I must leave soon. It will be me he tortures or worse, Thanos will kill me.

Nyx

I had just been placed in my new home. It was small and had a black object in the corner. I didn't know what it was, but I had a feeling I was being watched. I didn't like it, but I had no choice in the matter. I laid upon the bed. It wasn't very comfortable. I missed my home. My parents. Loki. That night I dreamed of Loki. He was screaming, and begging to be freed. He was being tortured. I knew subconsciously that somewhere Loki was alive. I wouldn't give up on finding him. Even if that means I ended up dead.

Thor

"How is Jane and Lady Nyx, Heimdall?" I looked out over the galaxy.

"Jane is well. She awaits your return." He quit speaking.

That worried me.

"Heimdall?" He turned to me.

"She is not so well. She is struggling, my Prince. She misses her home. She misses your brother. She feels alone. She misses her mother and father. She cries frequently for your brother. She really loved him." I glanced down at the ground.

I would search until I was absolutely sure Loki was dead. I would not stop searching until I had a body.

"Do not stop looking for him, Heimdall. No matter what." I walked away.

I'm so sorry Nyx. I will try to let father allow your return.

Jane

"The gate closed. I know he will come back. I'm not going to stop looking." I drove away from my old lab ready to go into a better one.

"I will see you again one day, Thor." I smiled.

Phil

"Do we really need to keep surveillance on her sir?" Fury looked at me.

"Have you just chosen to ignore the damage her Prince caused? No. We do not ignore damage done to our planet by extraterrestrials! C'mon Coulson, you know better." I frowned.

"Sir, she caused none of the damage to Earth. She protected our people first before focusing on the battle. By then the battle was over. She is hurting, sir. I trust her. I feel I have become a trusted member of SHIELD. So when I say she is nothing like the other Asgardians that came down to Earth, I'm serious." Fury frowned at me.

"Fine, Agent Coulson. If you trust her so much, you're in charge of her. Do I make myself clear?" I nodded my head.

Fury stormed away. I knew though that she would be an ally we could count on. So I was willing to take this risk for her.
