5 years before "My Sweet Interlude"
"Are you sure it's ok with them if I tag along with you tonight, Aliya?" Yuna asks her friend as they arrived at Taehyung's house.
Aliya's best friend, Taehyung, hosted a 'welcome back' party for her after spending a year in the States. She's studying at a university there and even though she's gone home for Christmas, she barely spent two weeks before she had to leave again. This time, she's spending a solid six weeks home and they're all happy about it.
"I already told you that it's not a problem. Taehyung was the one who asked me to bring you with me. There's nothing to worry about. Besides, Jimin and Jungkook will be there, you won't feel out of place." She knows that Yuna can be a bit shy with other people, especially those she isn't very familiar with. She's known the three boys since they attended the same high school together, but Taehyung has new friends which Yuna hasn't met yet and that's what's making her feel anxious.
"I also mentioned to you that Taehyung's friends are all drop-dead gorgeous so, that'll be something to look forward to." She turns to her friend giving her a quick hug. "You're going to be fine Yuna. You're prettier than you think you are, and you are an amazing person. Always remember that." She reassures her.
Yuna couldn't help smiling back at her friend who is beaming at her before she pressed the doorbell. How can she ever survive without her? She thought. She's always been there to support her in everything.
Taehyung's parents welcome them, and Yuna watched as her friend Aliya gets showered with love by the couple. She's been like a daughter to them since her parents are their closest friends. Aliya and Taehyung's moms were best friends since college and they're almost like sisters too. She's grateful to have met Aliya when she was in high school because she became a part of their family. Aliya's parents treated her like their own too. It's great to have someone like them in her life because she didn't get that much attention from her own parents. When Aliya's father died, she mourned his death too.
Her reverie gets interrupted when Taehyung shows up and snatches Aliya from his parents. He pulls Yuna with him too because apparently, his parents told him they were not to bring dates tonight, after all, this is about welcoming Aliya. He agreed to that only because he plans to go out after their dinner is over.
Just as expected, Jimin and Jungkook were there. Yuna smiles at them as they greet her. She fancied herself liking them in high school. With their striking good looks, it's hard not to get attracted to them. Taehyung, she found just as attractive, but she always thought he is off limits because of her friend, Aliya. They are best friends, but it feels like they belong to each other.
"Where have you been the entire year?" Jimin asks her.
"I was just here, attending school just like everyone else." Yuna replies.
"But you don't show up when we have gatherings. I thought you were in another country too." The other guy chuckles turning his eyes into cute crescents as he did.
Yuna blushes. "Yeah, you know me. I don't go if Aliya's not around."
"Why?" Jungkook asks. "Next time, just tell me and I'll pick you up. Bring your other friends if that will make you feel comfortable, the more the merrier." He laughs.
Yuna's not sure if it'll be a great idea to do that. Her friends, Jenny and Ara will jump at the opportunity of meeting guys like them. Her friends just play with men and these boys do the same with women, it'll be a clash if they meet, and she didn't want to get caught in the middle of that.
"Guys, this is Aliya, you met her last December when she went home remember her?" Taehyung tells the three men who were sitting at the kitchen counter drinking beer. "And this is our other friend, Yuna. She can give you a run for your money Namjoon, she too has a high IQ and majors in chemistry."
