Almost a week had passed and Yuna's father had to leave after reconnecting with her. No days were wasted because they saw each other everyday and for the first time ever, Yuna got to meet the other side of her family she never knew. It was a very emotional reunion.
Knowing that she has family beyond her mother and grandfather made Yuna feel ecstatic. She promised herself that she'd come and visit them as often as she could. She couldn't stop talking about it with Jin, who appear to be just as glad over how things were turning out. She told him that ever since he entered her life, things just started to get better for her, which is true.
In high spirits, she'd go to work everyday until she met her mother in the lobby of their office. Ji-Woo had been away for a business trip abroad and when she got back, she was in an endless string of meetings. She's busy preparing for the launch of their new product, the product that Yuna helped develop.
It's almost been the end of the week and this is the only time Yuna got to see her again. She gives her mother a bow as she greets her. Even if she wanted to give her mother a hug, she couldn't especially when they were at work.
Ji-won looks at her daughter and she gives what she calls a smile at her.
"Yuna, join me for dinner tonight at the Kim's hotel, the usual restaurant." She was referring to the hotel that was owned by Taehyung's family.
"Yes ma'am." Yuna replies.
"You look good." Her mother continues as they enter the elevator. She doesn't compliment her daughter that much and at certain times that she does, she is being sarcastic over something she is upset about. Yuna wasn't sure if she's in that mood today.
"Thank you." Yuna clears her throat. "You look great yourself, ma'am."
Ji-won simply nods her head in response. The elevator stops at her mother's floor which is four floors passed hers. Ji-Won gives her a quick nod as she leaves while Yuna bows at her. She sighed as she pressed the button on her own floor. This is part of the decorum which was taught to her the minute she started working for their company. Her mother and grandfather should always get to their floor first when they're in the same elevator car. The rest of the employees simply avoid being in the same car with them.
As the day continued, Yuna started to think about having dinner with her mother. Could it mean that Ji-Won wants something from her or does she need to talk about something with her? The compliment this morning sums it all up.
Yuna could only think of one reason for it, Ji-woo found out that she met with her father.
The staff at the restaurant was already expecting Yuna and Ji-Won because her mother's assistant booked a private room for them. Yuna was fifteen minutes early. Ji-Woo has a thing with punctuality and she hates waiting for someone.
Yuna ordered a non-alcoholic drink since she drove her own car coming here. She checked her phone to see if Jin had replied to her message about having dinner with her mother. He hasn't answered yet, she knows he is busy with work too.
The door slid open and her mother was ushered inside the room by the restaurant manager and the head server. Yuna rose from her seat to give her a bow. As soon as her mother took her seat, she did the same.
"You're early." Ji-Won tells her daughter after they give their orders.
"Yes, it was less traffic than I expected." She explains. Things are constantly awkward between them whenever they're alone. Where other mothers and daughters can talk about anything under the sun, Ji-woo isn't the type who'd discuss anything not significant to their business.
