Chp. 27: Please Save me Tonight

Jimin's POV 💫

When Dallia and I regain our composure, we head out to the lobby to find Yoongi and Lily speaking with Ari.

"You okay?" Lily asks as she engulfs Dallia in a hug.

"Yes, I'm more stunned than anything else. How did you and Yoongi know to come to find us?" I ask as Lily lets me go.

"Ari tried to stop Dae when she marched through the front door ranting incoherently, but she was too unhinged for Ari to handle on her own, so she called us for help," Lily explains.

"Thank you both so much. I'm so sorry," Dallia says again, and Ari comes around the desk offering hugs as well, and the three ladies comfort each other.

"You okay?" Yoongi asks quietly.

"Yes. I'm not afraid of Dae," I scoff under my breath so only Yoongi can hear me. "I'm more afraid of my new girlfriend jumping in front of an unstable person to try and save me! She didn't even hesitate. Not for one second...." I trail off, trying to control my emotions.

"Welcome to my world. It sounds like you have landed a spitfire like my Lily," Yoongi smirks.

"I wasn't expecting this! Sometimes she is so soft and vulnerable, and then...this! How do you do it, Hyung? Don't you worry about her?" I ask.

"Every second of every day. It's like half of my heart is missing whenever we aren't in a room together, but I have to let her fly. That's what happens when you truly love someone," he says knowingly.

I nod up and down. When Yoongi-hyung is not being a brat and trying to push my buttons intentionally, he sometimes says something so profound it takes me by surprise. He pats me on the shoulder like he is welcoming me into a club that only a few of us have memberships to, and I appreciate knowing I can turn to him if I need to with questions.

Lily walks over to us and flashes me a soft smile that says a thousand words. I know she would do anything to keep any of us safe, and we would do the same for her. She wraps her arm around Yoongi's waist, "Baby, I want to get everyone together for a family dinner at our place soon."

"As you wish, my love," he replies and places a soft kiss on her cheek, and Lily blushes. It's wondrous to see our bold Lily soften. It's as if Yoongi is the only person that can soothe the wild spirit that boils just under Lily's skin. Yoongi understands when hard times hit our friend group, Lily's chosen "family," that she feels the need to gather us together and fortify our bond.

Smiling, I approach Dallia. "How about you stay with me tonight?" I ask, not caring who overhears.

I see Ari's eyes light up for a moment, but to her credit, she doesn't say anything and instead wanders over to chat with Yoongi and Lily.

"That sounds nice," Dallia replies, but I can tell she is overwhelmed by the day's events, and I can't blame her.

I swing Dallia by her place to pack an overnight bag and stay glued to her side. I feel relieved when she is safely tucked away in my apartment with me. Dae and Ye-Joon don't have a chance in hell coming by to bother us now that we are in my secure apartment building.

We quietly ate takeout and then crawled up in bed together. Tonight isn't about physical desire but rather cerebral needs, and we tangle up in each other's arms holding each other.

"I feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders tonight, Lovely. Is there anything I can do to help you?" I ask sincerely.

"I'm sorry, Jimin. It's not you; it's me. Today felt like insanity. The Ye-Joon stuff isn't a big deal. I don't think he'd be stupid enough to risk his father's wrath by getting mixed up in rumors, but Dae...that was...it felt..crazy."
