Lily's POV 🌺
Cozied up in the corner of our plush, olive green sofa, I push my new reading glasses up, the black frames resting gently on my nose as I leisurely flip through my favorite interior design magazine. I can't remember the last time I actually sat down to relax. Holly has crawled up in my lap, deciding it was the perfect place for him to take a nap while I gently stroke his golden curls.
Yoongi walks in and takes in the sight as he places a giant mug of tea down for me on the stone coaster resting on the side table. "I love you in these glasses. How the fuck do you always seem to find a way to look more beautiful?" he breathes out as he leaves a soft kiss on my forehead.
I blush as I peer up into his heart-shaped face, "You should talk," I smile as I roll my eyes, and he grins at me, pleased by my words. "Thank you for the tea."
"You are welcome. There is something I need to tell you, though..." he says while taking a deep breath. His face looks serious like he is about to drop a bomb on me. Immediately I stiffen, waiting to see what kind of disaster we are about to go up against next....
"Hello?" comes a familiar voice as an unexpected guest arrives.
I look up at Yoongi, scrunching my eyebrows together, and then look over at our guest, "Park Jimin, I am still aggravated with you. I'm not ready to talk," I huff, and poor Holly wakes up confused with a whimper.
"Come on, little man," Yoongi says as he picks up his pup. "Let's go cuddle in another room and let these two hash it out."
I watch as my two loves leave the room and finally look up at Jimin, who looks like he hasn't slept in weeks. Dark circles are settled under puffy eyes; his hair is disheveled. I don't think I have ever seen him look this rough, which makes my heart hurt.
"Lily, you've been avoiding me for weeks. I am already going through enough, I can't handle this anymore," Jimin sighs, and he looks like he may cry at any moment.
I've never pushed Jimin away before, but I was furious with him about how he handled the situation with Dallia.
"Have you spoken with Dallia?" I ask indignantly, trying not to give in.
That's when Jimin starts to shake, casting his gaze up at the ceiling as if it will keep the tears from falling, but they begin to escape anyway, "No," he chokes out. "I don't know how to fix this...."
"Jimin," I whisper. I can't stand to see him hurting, he's one of my best friends, and it immediately softens my resolve. "Come here," I say, patting the soft cushion between my legs, and Jimin comes to me like a child and sits down so his back rests against me, and I wrap my arms around him.
"I don't know what to do, Lily! I broke Dallia and me...I broke us into a million pieces..." he cries. He's digging into all his feelings, letting all his emotions fly out, as I hang onto him like a life jacket. "I saw your live...and the way she was singing...I hurt her. I...I...I love her..." he cries.
"It's okay, Jimin. I'll try and help you find a way to fix it with Dallia. She's just really hurt," I murmur. I'm in shock; I've never heard Jimin say he loves anyone.
"I should have listened to what she was saying, but I just reacted! Dae was sprawled in her bed, crying out that she needed Dallia! I freaked out!" he chokes out.
"I know; it was a crazy night for everyone," I reply while I smooth down his hair.
Yoongi walks into the room, gently placing a full box of tissue in Jimin's hands and a small trash can at his feet. Then Yoongi softly pats the top of Jimin's head, silently letting him know he cares. Yoongi then winks at me with a soft smile and disappears from the room as quickly as he had arrived, and it only makes me love him more.
Jimin blows his nose and tosses the tissue into the basket. He retrieves another as he wipes his tears away, regaining a bit of composure. "Ha-Kun sat me down and told me everything. I feel like a Grade A asshole right now," he trails off.
"You didn't know what was happening. I know it was confusing," I concede. "I just wish you had reached out to her to apologize as soon as you found out the real story."
"I said some terrible things...I...I accused her of terrible things. I don't think she will ever let me talk to her again," Jimin stutters. His chest heaving in and out like he may break into tears again.
"Shhh, shhh, we will think of something, my friend. We'll think of something to fix this," I promise as I rock him gently in my arms. Jimin lays back, his head resting on my shoulder as I try and comfort him, and after a while, his exhaustion takes over, and he falls asleep in my arms like a baby.
Eventually, Yoongi returns and helps slide Jimin up so I can quietly unwrap myself from him, and then we gently prop him up on a throw pillow. Yoongi places a soft blanket over Jimin so that he can get some much needed rest and then leads me to the kitchen.
"Here, let me make you another cup of tea. You didn't get to drink yours, and now it is cold," he says.
I stop him and place a soft kiss on his lips while I wrap my arms around him. "I will never be able to express to you how much I love you," I whisper, while I appreciate that I found someone so perfectly in sync with my heart. I also know we had our own storied journey to be together, and it only fuels my desire to help Jimin.
"Thanks for talking to him, Darling. I knew you would help him, even if it's just by getting him to finally sleep," Yoongi says as his eyes dart across into the livingroom to see Jimin fast asleep. "Do you forgive me for not telling you I invited him over?" he asks and then satiates me with a long, deep kiss that curls my toes and sends shivers through my body.
"Always," I breathe out when he finally lifts his lips from mine.
"Good girl," he winks and I blush as he walks over to the stove to turn on the tea kettle, and I take a seat at the kitchen island.
I look over into the next room and observe Jimin's sleeping form.
How can I possibly help him make this situation any better?
