THE SUN HAD ONLY just peaked through the houses by the time Liliya had awoken, the fresh light pouring through her windows and into her bedroom.

After what seemed hours, the redhead finally sat up, her mind foggy from her slumber, she blinked a few times, trying to blink back the blurriness she saw.

After a few minutes of just sitting up in her bed, she slowly sighed and got up for the day. It was currently Tuesday, three days since the baseball game.

The girl turned to her clock on the wall, 5:11 am, her mouth hung open for a moment, shocked at how early she had woken up.

She sighed but walked over to her wardrobe, deciding in the end to just throw on her usual outfit, she slipped it on and quickly brushed out her hair.

She didn't bother putting on any makeup and headed downstairs, the house was dark without any sign of movement.

The only sound Liliya could hear when she treaded downstairs was the sound of her clock against the wall, each second pulled at her mind as she went into the kitchen for an apple.

When she opened the fridge and saw no apples, she groaned and ran her hand across her face.

She bit her lip in frustration as she closed her fridge with a small 'thump', she sighed and walked over to her cupboards - there were so many things packed into them but she couldn't be bothered to make anything.

She walked out of her kitchen, switching off the light as she went, and walked to the front door. She turned her head slightly to the ticking clock, 5:59 am, she groaned and slipped on her roller skates.

As she opened the door, the sun that was quickly rising, flooded into her doorway as she slipped out.

Although the sun poured over her, the air was still icy and cold, Liliya clicked her tongue as she closed her house door behind her and skated off of her front garden and onto the pavement.

'it's not so bad,' Liliya thought to herself as she slowly skated down the street, 'it's not so bad.' She repeated in her head, stuffing her hands into her jean pockets.

The sound of a bikes bell being pressed behind her pulled her out of her thoughts, she spun on her skates and turned to face the sandy-haired boy.

He had a big grin as he biked faster towards her, the dog bounding behind him. "Hey," he spoke as he slowed down his bike to be in sync with her skating.

"Hi Billy," He gave her a smile before the silence fell between the two, once again, it wasn't an uncomfortable silence, but it definitely wasn't comfortable either.

"Why're you out so early?" Billy inquired, throwing a newspaper into one of the house's front gardens.

"Because I woke up," She responded bluntly, a yawn escaping her lips. Billy raised an eyebrow, "your tired though?" He pointed out.

"Yeah, well I wasn't tired when I woke up," He sent a small smile as he noticed her staring at Skipper.

An irritated sigh escaped Liliya's lips as the dog barked loudly throughout the street, Billy quickly tried hushing the dog, but clearly, the dog wasn't having any of it.

"Skipper please," The boy pleaded, trying his best to hush the over excited dog, "sorry she's not usually so loud," He spoke, a slight frown playing on his lips.

"It's alright, dogs are dogs." The girl shrugged, although she was slightly irritated by the barking, she wouldn't say anything, she felt bad for the paperboy.

After a while Skipper finally settled down, and a silence settled over the town before most people woke up for school or work.

"Why are you a paperboy?" Liliya asked, getting a dumbfounded look from the boy. The girl raised an eyebrow at his face, "what?"

"Nothing, nobody's really asked," He thought about it for a moment, throwing another newspaper. "For the money probably, I get my own money for doing it."

Liliya's lips quirked into a smile, "alright."

LILIYA WAS FINALLY back in her house, her mother was cooking breakfast while her father was probably at work.

The girl was laying on her bed, her eyelids hooded as she thought about her morning encounter with the sandy haired boy.

It felt like a fever dream to the girl, she was so tired she couldn't even think about it without some bits feeling fuzzy.

Especially the bit where the boy laughed at someone Liliya said, when she thought back onto it she could feel a sort of a butterfly feeling in her bones, it was a strange sensation.

A sensation that Liliya's heart liked, but a feeling her head screamed at.
