CLOUDS FILLED THE SKY AS Liliya frustratedly rubbed out an answer on her maths homework, her eyebrows furrowed as she continuously re-read the question.

A loud sigh escaped her lips, she heard someone shuffle in front of her and glanced up. She slightly jumped when she saw Billy in front of her, he gave her a smile before pulling out his own maths homework from his bag.

The two were sitting in the school's library, "do you need any help?" Billy asked patiently, a smile playing on his lips.

Liliya opened her mouth slightly to object but closed it and nodded sheepishly, he stood up quickly and dragged his seat next to her.

She slid the worksheet over to him as he read the question that had a lot of doodles and crumbled areas from the continued rubbing.

Billy slightly chuckled at the scribbles of question marks and 'I don't know's' the redhead bit her lip, she felt like an idiot.

Billy looked up at her and smiled softly, "with this one," he began, taking the pencil off of Liliya. She listened intently as he began explaining to her, the sandy-haired boy explained it to her in a way that she would understand.

The best thing about his explanation is the fact he never made her feel stupid while explaining. "Finally, you do this, and then your answer should be 8.0027."

Liliya scanned the page and looked at his working out, her eyes widened and a smile made its way onto her face as she finally understood it.

"Oh! I get it now! Thank you!" She exclaimed before getting hushed by the librarian.

The two teens glanced at the woman before turning back to one another, trying their hardest to conceal their laughs.

Billy handed the redhead back her worksheet and pencil and watched her contently for a few seconds as she went on to solve the next one.

"You're welcome", he whispered to her as he completed his own homework.

After a few minutes of comfortable silence between the two, Billy spoke up, "hey Liliya?"

"Yeah, Billy?" She asked, turning towards the boy.

"Would you like some help with other topics, we have a test tomorrow." Liliya thought for a moment before nodding her head, Billy grinned and pulled out the topic list from his bag.

Liliya shoved her homework away from her and listened as Billy began explaining to her.

A WEEK LATER, Liliya was called by her maths teacher after class. He had given everyone their tests separately throughout the week and Liliya was next on the list.

He handed her the test downwards and watched as the girl nervously bit down on her lip. "I was thoroughly impressed Liliya, well done."

A huge smile made its way onto the redhead's face as she stared at the 43/50, "thank you!" The girl exclaimed happily.

The teacher nodded to her and she left the classroom, she rushed through the crowds of students and looked for the person she wanted to see the most at that moment.

She prayed and prayed, hoping that he was alone, and just her luck, he was. Billy was leaning against his locker, overlooking the swarms of people.

"Billy!" The girl exclaimed, he snapped his head towards her and a huge smile overtook his face, he waved ecstatically towards the girl who rushed towards him.

She pushed the test into his face, which he quickly took and stared in amazement. "You did so well!"

"Thank you thank you thank you! I'm so happy I could kiss you!" She exclaimed happily, the two paused at the last four words and slowly looked at one another.

Liliya's cheeks flushed red as she mumbled something Billy didn't quite hear. He chuckled and shook his head, "well done."

"Thank you."

LILIYA SAT ON A swing with Billy in the swing next to her, "I'm still super happy about the test!" The girl exclaimed.

Billy smiled and looked upwards, "I couldn't have done it without you." Billy snapped his head towards her and watched as her cheeks flushed.

"Y...you're welcome," the boy spoke slowly, watching as a smile overtook the redhead's face.

Billy stared at the girl for longer than was necessary, Liliya turned towards him and locked eyes with him.

Billy thought she looked beautiful.

She was the most beautiful girl Billy's ever seen.

"You're beautiful," the boy breathed out. Liliya's cheeks flushed even more as her lips parted to speak, but nothing came out.

Liliya hated being complimented.

But she didn't mind them when they came from Billy.

"Thank you."
